Congress – Holding Them Accountable For Performance When we go to work in the public or private sectors, our performance is considered and yearly reviews reflect our work performance. Citizens should be doing the same for their congressional representatives considering we are their employers and paying their salaries. For most of the congress, their salaries are $174,000 per year not counting their status and perks. It is difficult to believe that career politicians can be multimillionaires from that salary amount.
