Common Sense on Syrian Involvement

25 Quotes About The Coming War With Syria That Every American Should See By Michael Snyder (The Economic Collapse Blog |  Original Link) If Barack Obama is going to attack Syria, he is going to do it without the support of the American people, without the approval of Congress, without the approval of the United Nations, and without the help of the British. Now that the British Parliament has voted against a military strike, the Obama administration is saying that it may take “unilateral action” against Syria. But what good would “a shot across Syria’s bow” actually do? A “limited … Continue reading

Downplay Party?

Here is Governor Pence of Indiana.  His message is straightforward. What I want you to focus on is … the word “Republican(s).”  Now image how powerful this message would be if the word “Republican(s)” was not heard.  Just eliminate it. Perhaps a wider audience would listen or at least be open to the message. There are many more regular joes and josies like me than there are hard-core party people.  If the Republican Party wants to make head-way, it’s my humble opinion they need to downplay party politics per se. Quiz Question:  Can you cite the line that is my favorite in this video?  haha … Continue reading

US Congressmen From Texas To Introduce Bill To Over-ride Pentagon on Fort Hood Shooting Victims

From the Examiner: Texas lawmakers are about to introduce the “Honoring the Fort Hood Heroes Act.” (HFHHA) The HFHHA would change the “workplace violence” label the Obama administration put on it and change it to an act of terror. That would give the victims the same benefits any other soldier gets when he is killed or wounded in battle. It’s bad enough when you are victimized by someone who would not have been there if their government wasn’t so inept that they didn’t stop Hassan a full 2 years before the Ft Hood shooting but it’s doubly bad when your country turns it’s back … Continue reading

Cruz: Syria, Obamacare Linked by ‘Arrogance’ of ‘Out of Control President’

From Breitbart News: On Wednesday on The Rush Limbaugh Show, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) suggested that Obamacare and the possibility of military action in Syria were tied together “by an arrogance of this administration.” Cruz stated, “Fundamentally, actually, these two issues, you look at Syria, you look at Obamacare. They’re tied together by an arrogance of this administration, that they don’t believe they’re accountable to the American people, and they are going to jam their agenda down the throats of the American people.”     Cruz said that the only way to stop Obamacare and precipitous action in Syria would … Continue reading

Another From The “GEE, NO SHIT” File

In an unbelievable admission, an MIT professor says something we’ve known for a LONG time. Welcome to the party. From The Daily Caller.com. by Michael Bastasch MIT professor:  Global warming is a ‘religion’   What the Gorons believe. What the REALITY is. Throughout history, governments have twisted science to suit a political  agenda. Global warming is no different, according to Dr. Richard Lindzen of the  Massachusetts Institute of Technology. “Global climate alarmism has been costly to society, and it has the potential  to be vastly more costly. It has also been damaging to science, as scientists  adjust both data and even theory to … Continue reading

Quote Of The Day — August 30, 2013

. “In the old days, words like sin and Satan had a moral certitude. Today, they’re replaced with self-help jargon, words like dysfunction and antisocial behavior, discouraging any responsibility for one’s actions..” Don Henley / Singer/Songwriter ~ ~ .Grouchy. ~ ~

How Do I Dislike Thee? Let Me Count the Ways …

There are many reasons that I dislike Barack Hussein Obama. Here are a few: I dislike arrogant, egotistical people I dislike narcissists, especially when they possess precious little justification for being so self-enamored I dislike liars and my dislike for them grows every time that they are caught in a new lie I dislike people who claim to be knowledgeable about a subject when it is readily apparent that they are not I dislike those who refuse to take responsibility for their own actions I dislike those who blame others for their own blunders I dislike people whose core character … Continue reading

An Obama Pickup Truck

I stopped by the Chevrolet Dealership yesterday, for a look at the new Silverado 1500 pickup. Just for fun, I took it out for a test drive. I wanted to sense that new “feel” before they become extinct. The salesman (a black man wearing an Obama “change” lapel pin) sat in the  passenger seat describing the truck and all its “wonderful” options. The  seats were of particular interest. He explained that the seats directed warm air to your butt in the winter and directed cool air to your butt in the summer heat. Feeling like messing with him, I mentioned that this … Continue reading

The Hoggtown Redneck Zoo

A small zoo in Hoggtown, Arklabama obtained a very rare species of gorilla. Within a few weeks the gorilla, a female, became very difficult to handle. Upon examination, the veterinarian determined the problem. The gorilla was in heat. To make matters worse, there was no male gorilla available. Thinking about their problem, the zookeeper thought of Ed Lee Walton, a redneck part-time worker responsible for cleaning the animal cages. Ed Lee wasn’t very bright, but possessed ample ability to satisfy a female of any species. The Zoo Keeper thought they might have a solution. Ed Lee was approached with a … Continue reading

Obama Issues New EO’s Against Guns

From the Washington Times: President Obama ordered two more executive actions Thursday to restrict guns, banning the re-importation of military surplus firearms to private entities and proposing a regulation that would close a loophole in background checks. On the day B. Todd Jones is being sworn in as the new director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the White House said the ATF is proposing to conduct background checks on firearms registered to a trust or corporation. The administration said felons and others prohibited from having firearms currently are able to avoid background checks by choosing this route. “ATF reports that last … Continue reading

Crazy Idea

Ok, in keeping with my POV that the States are the necessary vehicle to change things in D.C., here’s a crazy idea … Beginning September 4th, 2013, all conservative or libertarian leaning type groups will stop communicating with anyone in Washington D.C.  No calls, no emails, no nada. Everyone will instead inundate their State legislative and executive branches with one message: Reverse the power of the national government and take back our State’s place in the Republic. Articles in magazines or on blogs will print only news and information about individual States. There is one thing the elected in D.C. … Continue reading

Sometimes, Senator Lee, Motive Does Matter

Recently I saw the old Hitchcock movie, Lifeboat.  The story centers around a group of Americans whose ship is sunk by a German U-boat, leaving them stranded on a lifeboat.  Soon the U-boat is also sunk, and an evacuated German sailor seeks refuge with the Americans in the lifeboat.  The Americans disagree about whether or not to let him on the boat but ultimately they do.  The plan is to try and guide the lifeboat to Bermuda, but they have no compass and are unsure about the accuracy of their course.  Eventually the German sailor takes charge of the boat and … Continue reading

Meet Your Fate

Welcome liberals and the uninvolved: Think of the United States as an airplane.  Its structure is held together with rivets.  These rivets are made of the ideals expressed in the Declaration of Independence.  Their placement is dictated by the U.S. Constitution.  The result is the airplane called the united States, a Constitutional Republic. A unique country amongst all the others. Some rivets have corroded over time.  Individual liberty and freedom have been rusting away almost from the beginning.  Man has a tendency to want power and control over others.  We rejected a monarchy once upon a time and now have … Continue reading

Obama’s Kingdom: Folly in the Land of Foo CH. 1 [satire]

Disclaimer: all ridicule directed at a pompous, narcissistic, egotistical ne’er-do-well in this satirical treatise is purely intentional. If you do recognize the target of my ridicule, please don’t alert him, just let him go on thinking that he is taken seriously and we really enjoy his speeches. Chapter One, King A’mabo is crowned Once upon a time, there was a magical kingdom called Foo. The Land of Foo was ruled by a tyrannical King named A’mabo. He was an evil man, who believed that the kingdom existed solely for his benefit. He cared about no one but himself and he ruled Foo with an … Continue reading

Obama’s Kingdom: Folly in the Land of Foo, CH. 2 [satire]

Chapter Two, the King Who Wasn’t There [An important note: chapter two plays off of a cast of characters and events that were introduced in chapter one – thus, chapter one should be required reading before being subjected to chapter two] If you need to read chapter one first, here’s a link to chapter one. Witch Sarah of Wasilla Helps Out Sarah of Wasilla was sympathetic to the people of Foo. She’d been following A’mabo’s actions in the New Yore Times since he was inaugurated coronated, and knew how badly his reign was going. She wasn’t surprised that a grassroots faction in Foo had asked for her … Continue reading

Listen and Learn

For anyone happening by who leans left progressive, please take the time to listen to this interview of Mark Levin by Neil Cavuto regarding the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).  Listen, investigate and learn. http://video.foxnews.com/v/2603160571001/administration-changing-health-care-law-on-the-run/?playlist_id=86929 Perhaps the most telling remark Mr. Levin makes is that he perceives we may be living in a ‘post Constitutional era.’  Think about that.  If that is the case, we are already in chaos and most don’t even recognize it.  Law, Order, common sense, etc are no longer applicable. Doesn’t that scare you? What prompted me to put this up was Kathy’s post about a group that has filed articles … Continue reading

What Price For Power?

(I first posted this essay on Common Sense Matters II on September 4, 2011.  I am re-posting it here and now because in my humble opinion it is a timeless topic that cannot be repeated often enough.  ˜CW) Many years ago I remember reading a horrifying story about a man who set his young son on fire in a vengeful act against his ex-wife.  I was astonished and sickened that someone could be so consumed with their own selfish need for power and control that they would destroy something good and precious to fulfill that need.  The way I see it there … Continue reading

Forecast: Millions dead within a year, Part 4

This is part 4 of a four-part series about EMP’s and the catastrophic results they can cause. Part 4, Is There Anything We Can Do? In this section, we can only generalize about the damage that might be expected and how well any defenses may mitigate those damages. What and to what degree various devices are susceptible to the EMP pulses are so dependent on the type of EMP (solar or nuclear), the strength of the detonation (or CME), the height of a nuclear detonation, and the location of the devices relative to the source, that the statement, “your results … Continue reading
