Censorship: First Britain, Then The World

. Censorship is the goal of all totalitarian ideologies. The world has become a much smaller place since the advent of the internet, and philosophies of all natures are or can be freely shared. Knowledge is no longer the provence of a chosen elite aristocracy, but it is rather shared world-wide. That said, there is a “Law of Unintended (?) Consequences”. And Britain is pushing that Law to the limit. Below are examples of the latest efforts I have found in on-line internet censorship.   UK Prime Minister David Cameron: Stop the unnecessary censorship of “esoteric” websites and web forums! … Continue reading

Say It Isn’t So.

If this hadn’t come from Breitbart.com  I would not have believed it. Maybe the asshat Obama should have read THIS first before opening the anger-chute.   Two Polls Show Gun Control Even Less Popular After Navy Yard Shooting Dumb ass. Even LIBERALS aren’t buying it in record numbers.             by             AWR Hawkins    22 Sep 2013 On September 21, the Huffington Post revealed results from two polls taken after the Navy Yard shooting which show that support for more gun control continues to slide. The two polls—one from HuffPo/YouGov and the other from Gallup—show less-than-majority support for gun control in response to … Continue reading

WAVY-TV reports that 13-year-old Khalid Caraballo will find out soon if he will be expelled for “possession, handling and use of a firearm” because the guns were fired at two others playing in Caraballo’s yard. A neighbor saw Khalid shooting the airsoft gun in his yard and called 911, telling the dispatcher, “He is pointing the gun, and it looks like there’s a target in a tree … Continue reading

Quote Of The Day — September 24, 2013

. Knowledge is not necessary for the possession of the virtues, whereas the habits which result from doing just and temperate acts count for all. By doing just acts the just man is produced, by doing temperate acts, the temperate man; without acting well no one can become good. Most people avoid good acts and take refuge in theory and think that by becoming philosophers they will become good. . Aristotle ARIST. Nico. II.4. . ~ ~ Grouchy ~ ~

A-Maze-ing New Healthcare Plan!

As the date nears for the implementation of “Obamacare” via the State exchanges, I thought it important for us to discuss what lies ahead from the Citizen point of view. So I am kicking off the discussion: I am not an economist, physician, or anything that the world would consider an expert relative to this discussion.  And that is exactly wrong.  I am a Citizen of my State and of the United States of America.  Therefore, I am a patient/potential patient in the healthcare system.  I am the target of this, after all. And so are you. Following is a flow chart … Continue reading

The Law And How It Is Used

Why Liberals Use Law for Control, While Conservatives Use Law for Protection By Kelly O’Connell  Sunday, September 22, 2013 An end run is being done around the traditional American approach to legislation and change. The result is a kind of tyranny by unethical strategy, or as Friedreich Nietzsche described – a Will to Power. But one important point escapes the minds of the leftists who seem to believe all power is self-justifying. Once principle is tossed aside in a mad dash for power, all players, including leftists are then at heightened risk for being crushed under the wheel of the abuse of … Continue reading

Immigrant Deaths Burden Small Texas County

From AP and Yahoo News: FALFURRIAS, Texas (AP) — By the time the woman perished, she had probably slogged 25 miles through dry ranch lands in her quest to enter the United States. She was found just feet from a highway where she might have been picked up and taken to Houston with other migrants making the same journey. Not long ago, her body would have been taken to a funeral home for a cursory attempt at identification, then buried in this town an hour north of the Mexico border under a sign reading “unknown female.” Her death, probably from … Continue reading

Quote Of The Day — September 23, 2013

. There are three prominent types of life: pleasure, political and contemplative. The mass of mankind is slavish in their tastes, preferring a life suitable to beasts; they have some ground for this view since they are imitating many of those in high places. People of superior refinement identify happiness with honour, or virtue, and generally the political life. . Aristotle — ARIST. Nico. I.5. . ~ ~ Grouchy ~ ~

Future Justice For Zimmerman???

Some things take time to muddle themselves out. The George Zimmerman trial is one of them. Eagle Rising and Onan Coca have the story. Zimmerman Prosecutor Under Fire By Onan Coca / 21 September 2013 Anyone who paid any attention to the George Zimmerman trial this summer knew that the Prosecutor in the case, Angela Corey, had bitten off more than she could chew. Almost unanimously, the legal pundits across various forms of media thought that  Ms. Corey had overreached  in her prosecution of Zimmerman. While many may have believed that he was guilty of some crime, the legal brains … Continue reading

Different Forms of Patriotism

Patriotism is a many splendored thing. Gotta love this example~! September 19, 2013 Why I Love America  Ooh Rah to the bikers who understand what it means to be an America patriot! This is from my friend Lori Boxer, but I believe it captures what many patriotic Conservative Americans stand for, and how we treat those who protect us. The Marine pictured standing in dress blues in temperatures exceeding 100 degrees will hold his salute for the entire duration of Rolling Thunder, the recent 9-11 event where 2 million bikers, American patriots all converged on DC. 2 biker-patriots, former Marines … Continue reading

The Death Of The Middle Class

44 Facts About The Death Of The Middle Class That Every American Should Know By Michael Snyder, on July 30th, 2013 What is America going to look like when the middle class is dead? Once upon a time, the United States has the largest and most vibrant middle class in the history of the world.  When I was growing up, it seemed like almost everyone was “middle class” and it was very rare to hear of someone that was out of work.  Of course life wasn’t perfect, but most families owned a home, most families had more than one vehicle, … Continue reading

A Sunday Feel Good Story

Let’s start this Sunday off right with America’s favorite song, performed by the absolute best trumpeter (IMO) in the world, Dr. Jesse McGuire. I first heard him play this shortly after 9/11 and I cried like a baby. Please rise, remove your hats and place your hand over your heart.  (and crank up the volume after you grab a tissue) ~Kathy

Quote Of The Day — September 22, 2013

. “,,, Man’s only moral commandment is: Thou Shalt Think. But a ‘moral commandment’ is a contradiction in terms. The moral, is the chosen, not the forced; The understood, not the obeyed. The moral is the rational, and reason accepts no commandments.” Ayn Rand, “This is John Galt”, Atlas Shrugged ~ ~ Grouchy ~~

A Simple Man

Congressman Trey Gowdy represents South Carolina’s 4th District. You can read more about him Here   Ok, I know the quality of the video isn’t the best, sorry ’bout that. What I like about Congressman Gowdy is his insistence that he is/thinks ‘simply’.  (One should not pre-judge the concept of “simple.”  It can be quite complex.)  He appears humble and quite competent at the same time. Happy listening … let me know what you think of his comments. Mrs AL

A Lesson In Abject Stupidity

“Raising the debt ceiling doesn’t increase the nation’s debt”, Pres. Obama declared in a speech on Thursday.   From CNS News: In a speech at the Business Roundtable headquarters in Washington, D.C., Obama dismissed concerns about raising the debt ceiling by noting that it’d been done so many times in the past: “Now, this debt ceiling — I just want to remind people in case you haven’t been keeping up — raising the debt ceiling, which has been done over a hundred times, does not increase our debt; it does not somehow promote profligacy.  All it does is it says you got to … Continue reading
