—oo— An elderly gentleman had serious hearing problems for a number of years. He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100% . The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, ‘Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again.’ The gentleman replied, ‘Oh, I haven’t told my family yet. I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I’ve changed my will three times!’ —oo—  TIPS FROM THE … Continue reading

Quote Of The Day — October 18, 2013

. Accept the fact that the achievement of your happiness is the only moral purpose of your life, and that happiness — not pain or mindless self-indulgence — is the proof of your moral integrity, since it is the proof and the result of your loyalty to the achievement of your values. Ayn Rand . ~ ~ Grouchy ~ ~

We’re Over the Target !!

After all the temper tantrums and fit throwing, King Oblamblam got his way with the debt bill. He took to the podium today to tell us how great this country is and why. He also saw fit to blast lobbyists, bloggers and activists.  Fast forward to about the 5:40 mark and listen to him (if you can stand it that long). He may as well have said ‘Pay no attention to the little man behind the curtain – I am the great and powerful Oz.’ It looks like we’re getting under that thin skin of his, and that makes me smile.  Blog … Continue reading

July 27, 1953 Revisited

It is October 17, 2013. The budget battle is over. The government is once again ‘open’ for business. Barrycades are coming down in the National Mall as thousands of D.C. drones swarm back to their assigned cubicles. Nothing has changed. Why does this all seem eerily familiar? Long ago and far away, in a land divided, there lived a tinpot dictator. Ruling over a squalid fiefdom, he eyed the wealth of his neighbors with envy. “Surely,” he thought, “it is unfair they have so much, while my subjects have so little.” So, the dictator sent his armies across the border … Continue reading

Tea Party Supporters More Scientifically Literate

From IJ Review: Yale Law professor Dan M. Kahan was conducting an analysis of the scientific comprehension of various political groups when he ran into a shocking discovery: tea party supporters are slightly more scientifically literate than the non-tea party population. When composing histograms of the scientific inference abilities of liberals and conservatives, he discovered that those who described themselves as tea party supporters came out pretty well, based on National Science Foundation standards of evaluation: The shift to the right on the gray columns represents a positive correlation between tea party members and generally higher scientific test scores. The … Continue reading

Highlights From the Debt Deal

From Breitbart News: Breitbart News has obtained a legislative summary of the provisions in the Senate deal to reopen government and extend the debt ceiling. Breitbart News has also obtained a copy of the legislative text. Currently, Senate staff are able to review the summary and legislative text in the Senate cloakroom, but aren’t allowed to retain a copy or make it public. In the interest of transparency, we have included the document below. As expected, the deal provides full back-pay for furloughed federal workers who haven’t been at work for two weeks. It also provides back-pay, though, for state … Continue reading

An Extraconstitutional Coup

I know that everyone who pays even a little attention to conservative news and views is probably aware of Saul Alinsky’s influence on the democrat party, but some still aren’t as familiar with another major tenet of the dems: the Cloward-Priven strategy. This is a slightly different treatment of how Obama and his liberal democrats in congress are currently using Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals along with the Cloward-Priven Strategies to execute an extraconstitutional makeover of the United States federal government in order to redistribute wealth. As you probably know, B. Hussein Obama was well educated in the techniques espoused … Continue reading

The Discussion Zone – October 17, 2013

With all the drama, etc. coming out of D.C., I have to say it reminds me of a Soap Opera.  I just haven’t thought up a good name for it … All My Elections?  Nah.  Oh well, you get the idea.  Have you got a suggestion?  And how about Harry Reid, et al pointing their fingers at “The Tea Party” members of Congress?   I thought the left was against minority bashing.  Now because I didn’t have children, I am ignorant on the parent thing and dealing with all the technology today. Perhaps someone will help me understand why parents aren’t … Continue reading

With Dollar Demise in Focus, Beijing Pushes “New World Order”

From the New American by Alex Newman: From establishment mouthpieces in the West to the brutal Communist Chinese regime’s propaganda outlets in the East, discussion and even brazen calls for ending the U.S. dollar’s (USD) prized status as the global reserve currency are increasingly coming out in the open. Of course, as The New American magazine has documented extensively over the years, the eventual implosion of America’s fiat currency — and all that entails — has been in the works for quite some time. What is remarkable now, however, is that the prospect is being trumpeted in headlines around the … Continue reading

Imagine THAT. Boehner Waves The White Flag.

In a move that simply does NOT surprise me, Boehner caved YET AGAIN. The time has come to stick a fork in the PSP leadership. Disgusting. From Breitbart.com   Surrender: House Will Vote First on Senate Debt Deal.         Can anyone say they are surprised the Chief Surrender Monkey gave up?   by             Mike Flynn      16 Oct 2013, 7:38 AM PDT Like rubbing salt in an open wound, it was announced Wednesday that the House would vote first on any Senate deal to reopen government and lift the debt ceiling. The move to pass a deal that many conservatives see as a … Continue reading

Quote Of The Day — October 17, 2013

. The Senate has been debased to the level of a forum of hate and character assassination sheltered by the shield of congressional immunity.” MARGARET CHASE SMITH (1897-1995) — US Senator (R-Maine) from 1949-1973 Quoted in reference to Senator Joseph McCarthy in the New York Times June 2, 1950 ~ ~ Grouchy ~ ~

Another Shutdown Tragedy

Forget veterans locked out of memorials built in their honor. Pay no attention to thousands of visitors turned away at National parks. Fret not even over the elderly forced from their own homes. As ‘Professor’ Harold Hill, Gary Conservatory of Music, class of ’05 said, “Ya got trouble. Right here in River City.” CNSNews.com reports the government shutdown interfered with the plans of some very important people; and they are NOT happy. The United Nations Human Rights Committee was forced to postpone a two day probe and pummel fest centered on U.S. compliance with the International Covenant on Civil and … Continue reading

Just say no to “fast track” trade authority

No Fast Track for Obama’s Next Power Grab President Obama is seeking power the Constitution has assigned to Congress. Soon, he will formally ask Congress to surrender its constitutional authority and grant him “Fast Track” Trade Promotion Authority. Breitbart by LTC Allen West (USA, Ret.) 10/15/13 And House Republicans are inexplicably ready to give it to him. Members of Congress who take our Constitution seriously will follow Nancy Reagan’s advice and Just Say No. Article One, Section 8 of the Constitution assigns Congress the exclusive responsibility to set the terms of “commerce with foreign nations” — trade. The Founders established … Continue reading

ObamaScare : Just Pay The Fine

THE TED OFFENSIVE Obamacare? Just don’t sign up. Pay the fine, preserve some  freedom.            The Obama administration has had almost four years to strategize, organize,  test and implement a technological solution for Americans to sign up for his  dysfunctional Obamacare Scam. The website, like Obamacare itself, is an embarrassing anti-health-care  nightmare. Even some Fedzillacrats admit that in order for the Fedzilla health-care  Ponzi Scheme to work, young and healthy Americans must be forced to sign up and  then get knowingly ripped off by paying outrageous premiums in order to finance  health care of the growing numbers of various freeloaders and … Continue reading

Limbaugh: “GOP Irrelevant”

It’s good to see the nation’s leading talk show host FINALLY recognize what we here at ‘Nox & Friends have been saying practically forever. “The GOP is Irrelevant” From World Net Daily: Rush Limbaugh, the leading conservative voice in America, is scorching the Republican Party as an irrelevant disaster which has apparently made a decision “not to exist.” “I was trying to think earlier today if ever in my life I could remember any major political party being so irrelevant,” the top-rated radio host said Wednesday on his national broadcast. “I have never seen it. I have never seen a … Continue reading

Wasteful Government Spending – Grants and Studies

Within our mammoth sized government with its myriad of agencies and departments, are endless examples of wasteful spending. Here are just two that caught my attention today. Feds Studying How to Use Twitter For ‘Depression Surveillance’ The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) began a study financed by the National Institutes of Health last month that will provide “population level depression monitoring” through the social media site. The project, “Utilizing Social Media as a Resource for Mental Health Surveillance,” is costing taxpayers $82,800. While Twitter has been used by government agencies, such as the Secret Service and Department of … Continue reading

Seniors, Take Notice ! !

Hell trap of communism: What good is medical insurance if the medical care is unavailable, non-existent, sub-standard, inhumane? Elder Abuse under ObamaCare    By Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh Wednesday, October 16, 2013 Jane* went to bed one night last week, thanking God for her many blessings. She woke up next morning screaming, an entirely different person. Hallucinating, alternating between an imaginary world that only she could see and hear. Her family took her to the local hospital. She was admitted immediately and routine blood tests and an MRI were ordered. Because Jane is 74 years old and a “unit” under … Continue reading

“Is Obama locked in a victim mentality?”

From Fox News Opinion Section  Dr. Keith Ablow writes: President Obama’s rhetoric is finally coming closer to what appears to be his psychological truth:  Because America victimized him and countless millions of others, any person or party or movement that opposes his views and does not yield to him is not just his adversary, but abusive, predatory and even threatening. Again and again, President Obama has described members of Congress who insist on fiscal responsibility as having taken “hostages,” “demanding a ransom,” using “extortion,” and threatening to “blow up” the government. On Tuesday, in fact, the president used these exact … Continue reading
