Kicking Vets While They’re Down

A coworker once commented, after administering a particularly brutal Canasta defeat, “You have to kick a man when he’s down; you can’t take advantage of him when he’s winning.” While such win-at-all-costs thinking may be appropriate among friends during a lunchtime card game, there is no place for such cavalier attitude toward people in real need. Yet, that is exactly what the Obama administration is exhibiting with a proposed change in rules governing how veterans must apply for service connected disability claims. The VA struggles to catch up. As noted in a piece by N&F contributor, Kathy, the Obama administration … Continue reading

Another Mom Blasts Common Core

From the Federalist Papers: Common Core touts itself as a “set of rigorous, college-ready, international benchmark standards” but one Arkansas mom disagrees. Watch her speech to the school board and the math problem she gives them. In earlier posts we talked about one school that instructed high school girls to wear burkas so they could better understand muslim women. In another class, the assignment was to rewrite the Bill of Rights, because it’s outdated. As if Common Core weren’t already dumbing down our kids, now they’re overcomplicating basic math. Sadly, there are many parents out there completely unaware of what their kids … Continue reading

Top Secret Documents Prove That Obama and Clinton Lied About Benghazi

Fox News has obtained previously top secret documents and transcripts indicating what President Obama knew about the Benghazi attack and when he knew it. Chief Washington correspondent James Rosen reported that the documents include 450 pages of sworn testimony by America’s highest ranking military officers… —oo— OK.  So now where is Congress’ investigation?  The truth is leaking out.  We’ll soon learn if Rep. Darrell Issa and Rep. Trey Gowdy will jump on this information and lean on Speaker Boehner to FINALLY appoint a select committee.  For crying out loud, it’s been 16 months since four Americans were slaughtered in Benghazi. … Continue reading

Liberals and the Reality-Disconnect – John Grisham

Needing to help pass the time while out of town a while ago I picked up the latest book by John Grisham.  “The Racketeer” is the story of a lawyer who is unwittingly used by a nefarious organization to launder millions of dollars and winds up on the wrong end of a ten-year prison sentence due to some overly zealous federal prosecutors casting an overly wide net.  I might have sympathized with a story about the federal government’s arrogance and callousness towards “the little guy” had it not been for the snippets of sanctimonious and clueless liberal moralizing gratuitously inserted … Continue reading

Backlog of Veteran Benefit Claims Increased

From The Daily Caller: Our poor guys just can’t get a break.   The Obama administration’s Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) saw its backlog of unprocessed veteran benefit claims increase at the end of the year, according to documents obtained by The Daily Caller. In response the VA promised that it will re-institute mandatory overtime for department employees by the end of January. Though VA promised Congress to cut its backlog and even recently hired many new staffers to address the problem, the department continues to leave hundreds of thousands of veterans waiting for benefits. The backlog again exceeded 400,000 severely … Continue reading

Wild Bill: Chickens Attacking Children

Bill opines about our public school systems and their insistence that the separation of church and state actually exists. This is the First Amendment to the Constitution: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Sorry Lefties… it’s not in there, you morons. Now please shut-up already.  Us grown-ups are tired of hearing about it. ~ Hardnox

DEA Allowed Drug Smuggling in Exchange for Information

From Joe For America: An investigation by El Universal has found that between  the years 2000 and 2012, the U.S. government had an arrangement with Mexico’s  Sinaloa drug cartel that allowed the organization to smuggle billions of dollars  of drugs in exchange for information on rival cartels. Sinaloa, led by Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, supplies 80% of the drugs entering the Chicago area and has a  presence in cities across the U.S. There have long been allegations that Guzman, considered to be “the world’s most powerful drug  trafficker,” coordinates with American authorities. But the El Universal investigation is the first to publish court documents that include corroborating testimony  from a DEA agent … Continue reading

Fair Elections Held Hostage by the DNC ?

Garnet has opened what could be called a “can of worms” with his post, “How the RNC has screwed us all.”  Please read the post if you haven’t done so already as background. In short, Garnet’s piece is about a 1982 action by the RNC that has the effect of prohibiting the RNC from actively pursuing voter fraud based upon actions taken in New Jersey in 1981.  This “Consent Decree” is still in effect.  It has hamstrung Republicans and anyone who votes to this day. Following is an article from The New York Times – December 2009. This article lays … Continue reading

Democrats and Foreign Policy

From the Boston Herald   Graham: A liberal botches foreign policy and we’re surprised? Thursday, January 9, 2014   By: Michael Graham “I think he has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.” — Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates on Vice President Joe Biden Hey Bob, tell me a liberal who hasn’t. Step back from the ongoing scandal of Benghazi or the shameless politics of Hillary Clinton’s “I opposed the surge because you were in the primary, Barack” politics. Look instead at the Democratic Party’s record on foreign policy over the … Continue reading

Gates: Obama Only Passionate About Repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell

Obama often opines how much he values the military and how passionate he is about our troops.  Gates contradicts that claiming Obama’s only passion was repealing the “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell Policy” in place since Bill Clinton’s administration. I’m glad this is finally coming out. ~ Hardnox

Feds go after Christie over use of Sandy relief funds

From GOP USA: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is under federal investigation about whether he misused federal relief funds from Hurricane Sandy, CNN reported Monday. CNN said federal officials are investigating whether Christie improperly used relief aid in tourism ads that featured him and his family. News of the investigation came days after Christie dismissed two top advisers for their roles in the George Washington Bridge scandal in which his staff is accused of tying up traffic near the nation’s busiest bridge in retaliation for a Democratic mayor’s refusal to endorse Republican Christie’s re-election bid. That scandal prompted two investigations. … Continue reading

Wild Bill: Commie Rat Democrats

They Will Lie to Your Casket

by Ken Blackwell at American Thinker: The New York Times recently published a 7,500-word coverup to exculpate the Obama administration in their atrocious dereliction of duty with respect to killing of four Americans at Benghazi in 2012. Like a frightened octopus, the left is exuding a vast cloud of ink, hoping to cover the failures of President Obama and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Times reporter goes to great length to show that al Qaeda was not part of the murderous attack that claimed the life of the U.S. ambassador, Chris Stevens. He was the first U.S. ambassador killed in … Continue reading

Arizona Censured John McCain

From Joe For America: Tired of hearing their senior U.S. Senator only focus righteous indignation against fellow Republicans and betrayed by McCain’s reversal of a campaign promise to oppose amnesty until a border fence is completed, the most grassroots of Republicans, precinct committeemen, from McCain’s home base of Phoenix and its Maricopa County delivered their own all too vicious and all too public retort: At the annual mandatory meeting of the Maricopa County Republican Committee Saturday, a resolution censuring Sen. John McCain was overwhelming passed by the elected precinct committeemen (PCs) representing the county seat of Phoenix…Committeemen representing the Republican voters are elected … Continue reading
