FOX: A Tennessee homeowner held two escaped inmates wanted in the killing of two prison guards at gunpoint Thursday until authorities arrived and made the arrests. Tennessee Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Bill Miller said late Thursday that the homeowner caught Donnie Rowe and Ricky Dubose trying to steal his vehicle. Miller says the escaped Georgia inmates had crashed a car while being chased by law enforcement and fled on foot into woods along Interstate 24 near the rural community of Christiana. He told police that he had just shot an intruder who attacked him in the basement. The officers found a man in the basement, later identified as 43 year-old Maurice Botelho, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. In Tulsa, Oklahoma, three armed suspects confronted their intended victim on the street and demanded his sneakers. A scuffle ensued and the intended victim ended up with possession of one of the thieves’ guns and shot one of the thieves in his junk. The injured criminal remained on the scene while the others took off. 33-year-old Robert Christopher and 39-year-old Toby Reed broke into a home near Paducah, Kentucky. In DeKalb County, Georgia, a store clerk identified as Alwyn Noronha was behind the counter at Happy’s Package Store on Rockbridge Road when a masked gunman later identified as 22-year-old Emmanuel Henry jumped over the counter and shot at Noronha at least 5 times. In St Louis, Missouri, Billy Dean Dickerson, 19, of St. Louis died Thursday morning when he and Perry A. Richardson, 23, tried to rob a 70-year-old man who was dropping off a friend at her house, police said.
