Quote of the Day

“However [political] parties may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.” – George Washington

Government Idiocy in HUD Exposed By IG Audits

Recently I read an article in an off mainstream site about the shock Dr. Carson probably received once he became HUD Secretary. The article was ” Audit on HUD reveals billions in bookkeeping errors” by Tracey Matheson on March 7. 2017. The lead paragraph said: “Despite officials from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) correcting $520 billion in bookkeeping errors, the department’s financial records have been so poorly kept that HUD’s inspector general (IG) cannot complete an audit of them.” As Julián Castro left the secretary position after having held the post since 2014, he told Dr. Carson, … Continue reading

Wild Bill: Scaring Silly People

Environmental Wackos have been scamming people for almost 100 years… I remember back in the 70’s we were all supposed to freeze to death within 50 years, so said the “experts”.  Then that fell on deaf ears and fizzled out.  Enter Al Gore, unemployed and defeated dim presidential candidate, looking for employment, next thing we know the planet will be melting.  Gore came up with the “carbon credit” scheme, or at least he pushed the idea, and it caught on.  Governments embraced it as it created a new taxable revenue scheme.  Brokers embraced it as a new stock where no … Continue reading

Quote of the Day

“Gentlemen! I too have been a close observer of the doings of the Bank of the United States. I have had men watching you for a long time, and am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should … Continue reading

My Two-Cents on Healthcare Insurance

I am totally disgusted with Paul Ryan and the “Peloski-esk” way they attempted to ram this Obamacare replacement through Congress. So instead of just ranting, which is a useless endeavor, I decided to come up with my own version. It involves all federal agencies like Social Security and HHS as well as the state insurance commissions. It includes HUD, Medicare, Medicaid, and any other necessary programs. It does not make any different provisions for military families or veterans because they deserve and should receive the same level of care as any non-veteran or non-military; Nor does it distinguish between federal, state, … Continue reading

Sunday Feel Good Stories

Des Moines, Iowa – Police say that around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a disturbance call at a home at S. 234th Street and 17th Place S. (map below), where an armed man was behaving erratically. Initial reports were that the man was armed with a knife, but when police arrived, they found the suspect had a machete. Another person was also reported to be inside the house, but it is unclear whether the machete-wielding suspect lived there, or what the relationship between the two might be. Police from Des Moines, Tukwila and Kent responded, and found the machete-wielding suspect … Continue reading

Quote of the Day

“The greatness comes not when things go always good for you, but the greatness comes when you are really tested, when you take some knocks, some disappointments, when sadness comes; because only if you’ve been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain… Always give your best. Never get discouraged. Never be petty. Always remember: Others may hate you. But those who hate you don’t win, unless you hate them. And then, you destroy yourself.”  Richard Nixon

Comey’s Oh Crap Moments at March 20th Grilling

In case you missed or chose not to see the entire rounds of questioning of Comey, here are few highlights you might be interested in. Watching a master “Grill Sargeant” at work is always interesting. This is a montage of Gowdy’s sessions with Comey. In this, Comey admits to beginning a FBI investigation on Trump’s political team in JULY 2016 and also there is an Ongoing investigation which means he can’t say anything except in closed session. Paying particular attention to Comey’s eyes and facial expressions give his “oh crap” moments away. However, now we have a newbie that with maturity … Continue reading

Funny Friday

GOD to ST. FRANCIS:  Frank , You know all about gardens and nature. What in the world is going on down there on the planet? What happened to the dandelions, violets, milkweeds and stuff I started eons ago? I had a perfect no-maintenance garden plan. Those plants grow in any type of soil, withstand drought and multiply with abandon. The nectar from the long-lasting blossoms attracts butterflies, honey bees and flocks of songbirds. I expected to see a vast garden of colors by now. But, all I see are these green rectangles. St. FRANCIS:  It’s the tribes that settled there, Lord. The Suburbanites. They started calling your … Continue reading

Flint, Michigan Tip of Looming Infrastructure Crisis

Americans have over the years come to believe they have the best infrastructure of most countries in the world. We have generously provided aid to many countries and yet ignored our own aging infrastructure. A few incidents over the years have barely scratched the surface of public awareness or alarm — until Flint, Michigan. After the shocking revelations of the water crisis in Flint, Michigan spanning almost ten years in jarring reports and stifled truth, several officials and to a lesser degree EPA have been reprimanded or in a few cases lost their jobs because of miscalculations, bad judgement, ignoring … Continue reading

Quote of the Day

“Officeholders are the agents of the people, not their masters. Not only is their time and labor due to the government, but they should scrupulously avoid in their political action, as well as in the discharge of their official duty, offending by a display of obtrusive partisanship their neighbors who have relations with them as public officials.” Grover Cleveland

Elected Congressional Members – Ultimate Self-employed Worker

Are Elected Congressional Members the Ultimate Self-employed Worker? When those in congress want to make themselves look relevant or important, they puff up and bounce in front of cameras as if their very words shape the nation.  Well sometimes information matters–Especially, when we are not seeing proof of actions which are consistent with our national interests and security; or, they set themselves up to be ranting two-year olds on a tangent. So What Is Acceptable In The Eyes Of Citizens For Elected Congress Members? Regular company hours?  Clocking in or out?  Punishment for not voting or working to run our country better with … Continue reading

New ICE Database List Highlights Concerns About National Security Risks

Breitbart by Ben Kew March 20, 2017 In an attempt to increase pressure on sanctuary cities, the Department of Homeland Security has published its first weekly list of all 118 localities refusing to cooperate with the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown. Each week, the list will publish every detention request rejected by local jails — detailing the relevant agency, the status of the immigrant, and the charges they are facing. The first report was published this Monday, listing 206 cases in which illegal aliens were arrested and consequently released from jail without charge, despite recommendations from the Immigration and Crime Enforcement … Continue reading

Quote of the Day

“In the history of mankind many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state; and in no way has this loss of power been so often and so clearly shown as in the tendency to turn the government into a government primarily for the benefit of one class instead of a government for the benefit of the people as a whole.”  Theodore Roosevelt

Quote of the Day

“Let me warn you, and let me warn the nation, against the smooth evasion that says: “Of course we believe these things. We believe in social security. We believe in work for the unemployed. We believe in saving homes. Cross our hearts and hope to die! We believe in all these things. But we do not like the way that the present administration is doing them. Just turn them over to us. We will do all of them, we will do more of them, we will do them better and, most important of all, the doing of them will not … Continue reading

Student Loan Defaults – Here Is The Reality

Surging Student Loan Defaults Spark New Fear Of Potential Taxpayer-Funded Bailout – Cavuto   In 2015 Obama pushed hard for tuition free community colleges and set up an advisory board to  push the efforts of America’s College Promise plan that would make two years of community college free nationally. He even doubled down in his version of the 2017 federal budget.  In his budget, the federal government was to have would covered 75% of the cost of tuition for two years, approximately $3,800 per student on average. The remaining 25% was to have been covered by states that chose to … Continue reading

Quote of the Day

The people have a right to keep arms; therefore, if we should have some Executive who attempted to set himself up as dictator or king, the people can organize themselves together and, with the arms and ammunition they have, they can properly protect themselves. . . .(87 CONG.REC., 77th Cong., 1st Sess., 7102 [Aug. 13, 1941])Representative John W. Patman (D-TX) In 1941 Patman concurred with Rep. Hall’s arguments against gun control, adding the above. OK – not all Democrats are gun-grabbers (and he was from Texas)
