Violations of the Constitution – The Third Amendment

Our Founders created the Constitution and Bill of Rights to guarantee the American people certain freedoms, liberties and rights. Over the years those rights have been trampled, manipulated and at times, grossly misinterpreted. This series will focus on examples of just how many of our rights have virtually been lost. The Third Amendment No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law. In 1774 American colonists were forced to quarter British soldiers in their homes because of … Continue reading

Benghazi drips on: what they knew and when they knew it

Here we have the ever-artful Jay Carney doing his worst snake oil sales pitch. For a guy who had no answers for James Rosen, he sure manages to mention every other thing and person possible except directly addressing Benghazi. “Was there adequate security at the diplomatic facility in Benghazi to protect the Americans there, the answer is no”, Carney stated as a matter of fact. We know. But about the preparations and admissions… Nada. The failures live on and on. Note what he did: Carney invoked the predecessor, Bush administration ,3 times. He invoked procedure, handled by the military, even … Continue reading

The Militarization of Our Police

From Yahoo & Reuters: Column: The militarization of U.S. police forces This month, more Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected vehicles (MRAPs) have found their way from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq to the Main Streets of America. These are just the latest acquisitions in a growing practice by Pentagon that’s militarizing America’s municipal police forces. Police departments in Boise and Nampa, Idaho, each acquired an MRAP, as did the force in High Springs, Florida. The offer of war-ready machinery, at practically no cost, has proven hard to resist for local police departments. Increasingly, they are looking like soldiers equipped for battle. The … Continue reading

Is Obama Creating a Martial-law-ready Military?

From American Thinker by Selwyn Duke What kind of leader wants a military more loyal to himself than to the rule of law? And why? These are two questions to ponder when considering the strange happenings in the armed forces since Barack Obama took office. Let’s start with a hypothetical. Let’s say you were a hard-left-wing commander in chief who wanted the military firmly in your corner. You’d certainly note that our armed forces have been a bastion of conservatism and Christian faith, and you’d know that its members generally weren’t very fond of you. So how would you go about … Continue reading

Liberal Superiority. (Well,At Least In Their Eyes) Part 3

In this series, I take a look at the left, and their smugness, and their self-imagined sense of superiority. In part 1, here, I examined their views on the government shutdown, and the environment. In part 2, here, I examined their views on education, media, energy, and economics. This piece is going to look at their views on the following items:   It never ceases to amaze me WHY the left so despises our armed services.   1. The military. When we conservatives think of our military, we tend to look upon them as above the average, in that they … Continue reading

Army Defines Christian Ministry as Hate Group

By Todd Starnes at Fox News: Several dozen U.S. Army active duty and reserve troops were told last week that the American Family Association, a well-respected Christian ministry, should be classified as a domestic hate group because the group advocates for traditional family values. The briefing was held at Camp Shelby in Mississippi and listed the AFA alongside domestic hate groups like the Ku Klux Klan, Neo-Nazis, the Black Panthers and the Nation of Islam. A soldier who attended the briefing contacted me and sent me a photograph of a slide show presentation that listed AFA as a domestic hate group. Under … Continue reading

More Veterans Going to Washington DC

I found this on Facebook from a group called the National Liberty Federation. Another group of military veterans is scheduled to arrive in D.C. tomorrow morning to carry out a second protest, demanding lawmakers immediately end the government shutdown. The protest is being organized by The Military Coalition (TMC), …a group of 33 organizations that represents 5.5 million people. Members are comprised of the uniformed services—active, reserve, retired veterans, survivors and their families. TMC’s protest arrives on the heels of the “Million Vet March” that occurred over the weekend attracting thousands of veterans who marched on the National Mall and then … Continue reading

Day 3 in DC: Veterans, Truckers and Barricades

The Americans are coming!! The Americans are coming!!   ~~~ And they’re tearing down barricades. ~~~ And posing in Iwo Jima style for the cameras. ~~~ And then cops on horses showed up…  ~~~ and cops on foot with all their bad-boy gear (Hey, officer these are veterans and some of them were shooting bad guys while you were still in diapers.) ~~~ After a futile attempt to run them off, a riot broke out. Oh wait, that’s not a riot, that’s Americans singing the National Anthem. ~~~ Where are they going and why are they carrying those barricades? (left of the … Continue reading

Trump Vs. The Chump

The Donald Says He’ll Pay For Fallen Warrior Burials Cut By Obama’s Shutdown From Clash Daily: Billionaire Donald Trump has offered to pick up paying a “death gratuity” to families of four soldiers and a Marine who died in combat in Afghanistan over the weekend after the Pentagon announced it is suspending immediate payments to families of combat fatalities because of the government shutdown. When service men and women are killed in combat, the Pentagon normally pays families $100,000 to cover funerals and the cost of families to travel to receive the remains of their loved ones. The Pentagon suspended … Continue reading

A Letter to the President

I got this from a friend of a friend, who wishes to remain anonymous, and she says what we’re all thinking. We should all write a similar letter – that is, if you don’t mind being audited. Mr. Obama,  In case you think that all of us in the electorate are so brain dead that we buy your lies, posturing, blaming,  thieving,  petty games…………think again.  Millions of us are on to you and your ilk.  You are not only a scourge on the White House and this Country; you are a scourge on humanity in general. The wide spread pain you … Continue reading

Million Veterans Rally – This Sunday, Oct. 13th

Yesterday in a previous post I advertised the rally.  Well, this is picking up steam.  World Net Daily reports that the Truckers and the Bikers are rallying in support of our veterans as well and are calling it a “Super Rally”. The Million Vet March on the Memorials has announced plans for an event Sunday, Oct. 13, at 9 a.m. Eastern at the World War II memorial on the National Mall, the location where rangers under orders from the White House tried, unsuccessfully, to prevent vets from visiting in recent days. Announcement said “Special Operations Speaks” will be taking the action … Continue reading

Hitting Below the Belt

Our government has hit an all time low. From Today.com: Shutdown denies death benefits to families of fallen soldiers   The shutdown of the federal government is now affecting some families when they are most vulnerable, denying them benefits to help with funeral expenses of loved ones killed while serving the country. The families of five U.S. service members who were killed over the weekend in Afghanistan have been notified that they won’t be receiving the $100,000 benefit normally wired to relatives within 36 hours of the death. The “death gratuity” is intended to help cover funeral costs and help … Continue reading
