Gun Re-registration Begins in D.C.

From the Washington Times by Emily Miller: Gun re-registration begins in D.C., may lead to arrest and confiscation First law in U.S. to require renewal with fingerprints and fees For the first time in the United States, a citizen who has legally registered a gun will have to submit to a renewal process. The consequences of not knowing about this new law or missing the specific 60-day window are dire. Starting on Jan. 2, every single D.C. resident who has registered a firearm since 1976 must go to police headquarters to pay a $48 fee and be photographed and fingerprinted. … Continue reading

Gun Registration Begins

In Connecticut where they have now forced gun owners to register their weapons and Brian Lilly of Sun News in Canada explains precisely how this new registration law will lead to gun confiscation.   The whole idea of registration is ludicrous.  It keeps no one safe because the bad guys certainly will not register. Registration leads to one thing and one thing only: CONFISCATION New York City has already sent out letters notifying city residents that have firearms capable of more than seven rounds to be surrendered within 30 days since they do not meet the new laws enacted last year. … Continue reading

Florida Man Shoots Home Invaders With AK47

Two home invasion suspects are on the run and a third was fatally shot by a South Florida resident who fought back against the armed intruders with an AK-47 last Thursday night, police said. Three armed men entered the apartment and pistol-whipped the resident inside, police said. He then confronted the suspects. “The resident of the apartment had possession of an AK-47 and after he received this beating he was able to get possession or control of that, and started shooting at these suspects as they were fleeing.” Score another one for the good guys. Detroit Police Chief: Legal Gun Owners Can Deter Crime

From The Detroit News:  “If more citizens were armed, criminals would think twice about attacking them”, Detroit Police Chief James Craig said Thursday. Urban police chiefs are typically in favor of gun control or reluctant to discuss the issue, but Craig on Thursday was candid about how he’s changed his mind. “When we look at the good community members who have concealed weapons permits, the likelihood they’ll shoot is based on a lack of confidence in this Police Department,” Craig said at a press conference at police headquarters, adding that he thinks more Detroit citizens feel safer, thanks in part … Continue reading

New DOJ, HHS Rules Aimed at Mental State of Gun Owners

From PJ Media: WASHINGTON — As Capitol Hill was getting ready to march back to work after the holiday break, the Justice Department tweeted a photo of Attorney General Eric Holder’s hands signing new regulations to clarify who should be flagged in the federal background check system for mental health conditions. That was coupled with a second action over at the Department of Health and Human Services, which aims to remove barriers that prevent some states from reporting mental health conditions to the background check system. The Justice Department said Holder’s “clarification will help states determine what information may be … Continue reading

Admin Proposes New EO’s on Gun Background Checks

From FOX News: The Obama administration on Friday proposed two new executive actions to make it easier for states to provide mental health information to the national background check system, wading back into the gun control debate after a months-long hiatus. Vice President Biden’s office announced the proposals Friday afternoon. Both pertain to the ability of states to provide information about the mentally ill and those seeking mental health treatment to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System. One proposal would formally give permission to states to submit “the limited information necessary to help keep guns out of potentially dangerous … Continue reading

Magpul is Moving to Texas and Wyoming

From the Washington Times: Remember a few months ago when we read stories about how the Colorado gun control laws were detrimental to the gun related businesses, Magpul in particular? Well, it seems they’ve found a new home, or homes, that is. ERIE, Colo. — Magpul Industries, a firearms-accessories maker, announced Thursday that it will relocate its extensive manufacturing facilities to Texas and Wyoming, in angry response to the Colorado legislature’s passage of sweeping gun-control legislation in 2013. At the same time, the company plans to maintain a toehold in Colorado in order to continue to fight the gun bills passed by the Democratic-dominated state … Continue reading

Christie the Bully for President?

From Newsmax: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie often takes petty revenge against people who he believes have slighted him, enhancing his bullying image, The New York Times reports. Christie has most recently angered many over George Washington Bridge lane closures in September. Two of his close allies ordered lanes closed for four days leaving Fort Lee and going into New York City, causing traffic snarls. Critics have charged the lane closures were retribution against Democratic Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich for not endorsing Christie’s re-election. Christie has denied any such motive. “Every organization takes its cues from the leadership as to what’s acceptable and what’s … Continue reading

Beretta won’t move to Virginia due to Terry McAuliffe’s gun-control agenda

By Emily Miller – The Washington Times Beretta has eliminated Virginia from its short list of states to move its company because anti-gun Democrat Terry McAuliffe was elected governor. The firearms manufacturer made the decision to scratch Virginia off the list after the McAuliffe campaign fixated on restricting gun owners’ rights after receiving over $1 million in campaign donations from billionaire New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg. “The anti-gun ads that McAuliffe ran in northern Virginia were particularly offensive,” Jeff Reh, general counsel of Beretta USA, told me in an interview. “And the fact that he could gain a voting advantage … Continue reading

I’m Not Surprised With THIS Revelation.

The latest leftist nutcase shooting up a “gun-free school zone” seems to have an animus. GUESS WHO it is against. You never will. From Breitbart.com   Arapahoe High Gunman: Republicans Are the Party of ‘Let ’em Die’.      Karl Pierson. At 18, a devout leftist. Looks as if the idiotic media CANNOT blame THIS one on “the right”. Not even close.    Undoubtedly young Mr. Pierson’s heroes. At least, he STILL can vote for them.   by             John Nolte                  14 Dec 2013 Early news reports have identified the Arapahoe High School gunman as Karl Halverson Pierson, an 18-year-old student. … Continue reading

Lessons from Sandy Hook: Parental Responsibility

From Gun Safety Professionals: After reading through the Connecticut State Police‘s report on the Sandy Hook Elementary School attack, I am very much convinced that the mother of the killer, Nancy Lanza was woefully negligent in how she dealt with her son, Adam Lanza and in how she stored the firearms that she owned.   Nancy Lanza lost all control over her son and ignored the fact that his condition was getting worse over time. Assuming his medical diagnoses were accurate, the fact that Adam Lanza refused to participate in any sort of cognitive behavioral therapy that could have lessened the impact of the Asperger’s Syndrome and his co-morbid conditions he was diagnosed … Continue reading

Mayor’s Response to D.R.T.

From IJ Review: A parolee attempted to rob a store armed with a handgun, but was stopped literally dead in his tracks when the shop-owner took out his own gun to defend himself and his store. Demarcus Brandon had been convicted of an armed robbery attempt in 2007, where he shot at an officer. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison, but served less than half his sentence when he was paroled in July. But that’s not all! Demarcus had only been out of prison for five months, but he was also suspected in another shooting of an officer … Continue reading

The Best Second Amendment Speech Ever!

From IJ Review: Every once in awhile a video speaks for itself. This is one of those videos. Watch former Iraqi war combat veteran and current police officer Aaron Weiss address the Dutchess County legislature in New York on the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. A very moving speech from a man whose actions and words deserve much admiration. Thank you, Sir, for taking a stand and for your service. ~Kathy

It was a special morning as it was her granddaughter’s 14th birthday. She was waiting for the bus that would take her downtown. That is when everything changed for the worse.
