In Knoxville, Tennessee,  police officers were called to the home off McKamey Road early Friday morning, where they found a woman lying on the ground outside the backdoor, suffering from at least one gunshot wound.  The woman, who was identified as Stacie Mundy, 38, of Knoxville, was pronounced DOT at UT Medical Center.  According to a press release from KPD, Mundy was forcing her way into the home when the homeowner shot her “in defense of his life.” In St Louis, Missouri,  when police officers arrived at the scene, they found the body of 20-year-old Jarrett Richardson inside the apartment.  Investigators … Continue reading

In St Louis, Missouri, Billy Dean Dickerson, 19, of St. Louis died Thursday morning when he and Perry A. Richardson, 23, tried to rob a 70-year-old man who was dropping off a friend at her house, police said. The man is a Vietnam War veteran from St. Louis.  The veteran and his friend were sitting in his car when Dickerson pulled his vehicle up next to the driver’s side, police said. From the Washington Free Beacon: The FBI ran 27.5 million gun-related background checks in 2016—about 4.4 million more than any other year on record. The National Instant Criminal Background Check System processed 2,771,159 background checks in December, bringing 2016’s total to 27,538,673, according to FBI records posted on Wednesday. That dwarfs the firearms check record of 23,141,970 set the previous year. NICS firearms background checks are considered an accurate metric of gun sales.
