WASHINGTON (AP) — Members of Congress, abruptly handed exactly the war powers many had demanded, grappled Saturday with whether to sign off on President Barack Obama’s plan to punish Syria for an alleged chemical weapons attack. Now with a stake in the nation’s global credibility, lawmakers were seeking more information about the possible consequences of striking a region without knowing what would happen next. US Congressmen From Texas To Introduce Bill To Over-ride Pentagon on Fort Hood Shooting Victims

From the Examiner: Texas lawmakers are about to introduce the “Honoring the Fort Hood Heroes Act.” (HFHHA) The HFHHA would change the “workplace violence” label the Obama administration put on it and change it to an act of terror. That would give the victims the same benefits any other soldier gets when he is killed or wounded in battle. Obama Issues New EO’s Against Guns

From the Washington Times: President Obama ordered two more executive actions Thursday to restrict guns, banning the re-importation of military surplus firearms to private entities and proposing a regulation that would close a loophole in background checks. On the day B. Todd Jones is being sworn in as the new director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the White House said the ATF is proposing to conduct background checks on firearms registered to a trust or corporation.
