SHTF – “Survival” – Water & Sanitation

Let’s get right into it, ok… WATER A tub is great for short term emergencies but, for the longer term, you’re gonna need some containers. Milk jugs are NOT recommended as they tend to leak and they’re too hard to sanitize. Standard “fountain” jugs are a “given”, Arizona Iced Tea containers are thick and easy to clean and carry. Soda Bottles are good, too. Check your camping aisle for collapsible containers. They’re fairly cheap and purposed; with a spigot. Before we go ANY further into this, let’s make 2 things distinctly clear. There are two (2) important factors regarding procurement … Continue reading

SHTF – “Making an Inventory List” and “Stocking Procedure & Dating”

Let’s hit the road running, ok?  This is an “Open Thread”. “Supply Inventory List” – Let’s start with making a simple “Supply Inventory List”. This should consist of Water, Food and Medications. For that matter – everything. You need to know what you have in order to have it when you need it. “Water / Sanitation” – For example: You’ll need 1 gallon of water, per person, per day, just to stay alive. Three days is about the max anyone can go without being critically dehydrated. If you don’t have a ready source, you’ll have to stock it. A camper’s ceramic purifier … Continue reading

It reflects what many of us already think of our “glorious” leadership; political parties, notwithstanding… Received: March 20, 2014 Ms. Myers doesn’t mince words or “sugar coat” them! She is quite perceptive of the corruption infesting Congress – and of the rest of the federal government. Some serious “house cleaning” is necessary and too long delayed!
