Liberal Colleges Now on Notice Across the Country –
DoJ will be pursuing First Amendment rights
Finally – The bastion of liberalism – Berkley University now feeling the push back on First Amendment Rights on campus – but they aren’t the only ones and hopefully won’t be the last ones to understand that our Constitution is not to be mocked nor the rights of conservatives be denigrated from fear of reprisal. Too long we have been suppressed and made to feel that we were horrible people for believing in freedom of speech and right to express our heartfelt beliefs. That is a communist ploy to destroy a country at its roots. Not what our founding fathers believed or practiced. Not put down in the founding document for our country. If for no other reason than to preserve our union, we should be thanking the current administration and the DoJ for setting right this wrong.
I recently wrote about Pierce College and Gwinnett College. Now the DoJ has turned its attention to one of the icons of liberalism on the west coast – UC-Berkley. As US citizens, we should all be outraged to learn that conservatives on college campuses are being threatened and denied their rights to free speech. We should all understand that to turn around our country, we must first make sure our education system is expunged of those that harbor anger and extol fear in order to destroy our way of life and our country from within.
For years, liberals have plotted this course. For years, they have groomed students on campuses to be robots of liberalism, to be forced live within the confines and constructs of a world ruled by socialism. Those walking the campuses have for the last thirty years been increasingly not been allowed to hear nor decide for themselves what is truth because liberals on campuses have taught increasingly by socialist syllabus, taught by restrictive point of view, yelled, rioted, and threatened the lives of our young adults.
THAT TIME HAS TO BE OVER if we ever hope to recover our country and again find strong social and moral values to guide our society, a path of growth for all future generations of citizens, and patriotism to sustain our country.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a statement of interest [text, PDF] Thursday on behalf of two conservative student groups at the University of California, Berkeley [official website] who are suing the school for violation of their First Amendment rights to free speech, due process and equal protection.
The complaint [text, PDF] was filed by the Berkeley College Republicans (BCR) and the Young American’s Foundation(YAF) [advocacy websites] alleging the University adopted a double standard toward campus speech, applying a more restrictive set of rules to BCR ultimately resulting in the cancellation of two speaking engagements featuring prominent conservative speakers in the month of April, 2017. The University has filed a motion to dismiss.
In voicing their support, the DOJ stated that the US has “a significant interest in the vigilant protection of constitutional freedoms in institutions of higher learning. As the Supreme Court has noted, ‘[t]eachers and students must always remain free to inquire, to study and to evaluate, to gain new maturity and understanding; otherwise our civilization will stagnate and die.’ In recent years, however, many institutions of higher education have failed to answer this call, and free speech has come under attack on campuses across the country.”
The statement continues that “such a failure is of grave concern because…this sort of hazardous freedom-this kind of openness-that is the basis of our national strength and of the independence and vigor of Americans who grow up and live in this relatively permissive, often disputatious, society.” The court should therefore deny the University’s motion to dismiss.
Congress delegated the authority to DOJ to submit statements of interest under 28 USC § 517 [statute, PDF], which authorizes the Attorney General “to attend to the interests of the United States in a suit pending in a court of the United States.”
This marks the third statement of interest filed by DOJ in a First Amendment case under Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
MAGA! Not about a single man but an entire movement.
You cannot improve tomorrow if;
— yesterday is not studied and appreciated for its strengths and weaknesses so that we can replace bad habits or mores and evolve into a better tomorrow;
— today is suppressed through fear, one-sided discourse, discouragement of First Amendment rights, hate, “safe spaces”, or radical rants — life and living is noisy and often vastly different from the world created within the confines of a liberal college; and,
— tomorrow is shrunk into a box filled with gloom, ignorance of history, lack of appreciation for human values and needs, or Marxist attitudes where individual thoughts and feelings are removed to be replaced by a Borg-like following of a collective.
Time for those sick of this downward spiral in universities and colleges to stand up and be counted. Now that we have a DoJ dedicating time and attention, let’s get these campuses back on course, set college boards on notice, and reform curricula to better serve the needs of the country, students, and our future generations. No time like now because we have already been witnessing what our future looks like if we don’t.
