President Trump Doubles Down On Senate

White House: No DACA deal until ‘Senate Democrats reopen the government

President Trump is officially playing hardball.

The White House stated on Saturday that it will not agree to a deal on the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, until the Senate approves a funding bill for the government’s operation, the Washington Examiner reports.

The shutdown occurred after Senate Democrats on Friday night refused to vote for a stop-gap measure that would have kept the government running until February 8.

Democrats opposed the funding bill because it does not include protection for DACA beneficiaries. President Trump and congressional Republicans have expressed willingness to give reach a deal on DACA, but on the condition of receiving border wall funding and an end to chain migration in exchange.

The Democrats have been told, and fully understand, that there can be no DACA without the desperately needed WALL at the Southern Border and an END to the horrible Chain Migration & ridiculous Lottery System of Immigration etc. We must protect our Country at all cost!</d7:16 AM – Dec 29, 2017

The stop-gap measure was shot down in the Senate on a 50-49 vote after being passed by the Republican-controlled House. Several mainstream media outlets, including the New York Times and Associated Press, acknowledged Democrats’ role in shutting down the government.

Short accused Democrats of “conducting a two-year-old temper tantrum.”

President Trump excoriated Democrats for provoking the shutdown in several Saturday tweets.

Democrats are far more concerned with Illegal Immigrants than they are with our great Military or Safety at our dangerous Southern Border. They could have easily made a deal but decided to play Shutdown politics instead. #WeNeedMoreRepublicansIn18 in order to power through mess!

This is the One Year Anniversary of my Presidency and the Democrats wanted to give me a nice present.

For those asking, the Republicans only have 51 votes in the Senate, and they need 60. That is why we need to win more Republicans in 2018 Election! We can then be even tougher on Crime (and Border), and even better to our Military & Veterans!

President Trump fired back at Democrats who caused the government shutdown by releasing a chilling ad accusing liberals of being “complicit” in the murders of Americans by illegal aliens.

“President Trump is right: build the wall, deport criminals, stop illegal immigration now!” the ad states. “Democrats who stand in our way will be complicit in every murder committed by illegal immigrants. President Trump will fix our border and keep our families safe.”

I can smell the popcorn. It’s almost ready. The thing is…despite a win or loss, this only lasts THIRTY days and then we have to go through all of this angst again. Utterly ridiculous.

White Cheddar sprinkled on mine please. I worked for Donald J. when he opened his first casino in Atlantic City and saw first hand of his negotiating abilities. I took away a lot of knowledge from just watching and listening in the 7 years I was there from 1984-1991.

        • Uriel says:

Cool! You may be able to have insight into his thinking then. Hope to hear more about what you learned!

  2. Uriel says:

Trump not only upped the ante but delivered a power punch today….
“If stalemate continues, Republicans should go to 51% (Nuclear Option) and vote on real, long term budget, no C.R.’s!” he added, referring to a stopgap spending measure known as a continuing resolution.

  3. Shar says:

Now more than ever they need to have someone healthy take over McCain and Thad
Cochran’s seat. The margin is shrinking.

    • Uriel says:

You have that right this year with so many Republicans dropping out of running and such it is going to be a serious fight

New York, NY – Hours after Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer led Democrats to shut down the federal government, holding lawful citizens hostage over their demands for amnesty for illegal immigrants, Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. released a campaign ad calling out Democrats “who stand in our way” of progress and who are “complicit in every murder committed by illegal immigrants.”

The ad, titled “Complicit ,” profiles an illegal immigrant on trial for the murder of two Sacramento police officers who stated his “only regret” is that he “just killed two” and that he wished he “killed more.” It contrasts Democrats, who stand by those who commit acts of “pure evil,” versus President Trump, who was elected to build a wall to stop illegal immigration and keep American families safe.

The Trump Campaign released the ad on the one-year anniversary of Donald Trump’s Inauguration as the 45th President of the United States. The powerful new ad reflects the stakes in the illegal immigration debate, and the reasons why the President will not allow the Schumer Shutdown to force his hand and grant amnesty for illegal immigrants.

“Donald Trump was elected President to build the wall and keep American families safe from evil, illegal immigrants who commit violent crimes against lawful U.S. citizens,” said Michael S. Glassner, Executive Director of Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. “Yet, one year after President Trump’s Inauguration, Chuck Schumer and the Democrats continue to put the interests of illegal immigrants over those of Americans. Our new campaign ad draws attention to the stark contrast between ‘complicit’ Democrats and the President for his full commitment to build a wall and fix our border to protect Americans from drugs, murder and other atrocities,” he concluded.

Welcome DocFNC. Right you are. It is unbelievable that we are still fighting this crap. More unbelievable that this 2018 is Just as vital.

  5. clyde says:

About damn time someone stood up to Schumer and the rest of the dimotards.

    • Uriel says:

I agree. Word just in days they are about to reach agreement my problem is WHAT is McC giving in on? Or will he back Trump’s tweet?

  6. malenurseken says:

And my understanding was, There was NO reason to be in a hurry for a DACA deal now! It dont expire till March 5. But the Leftasses tried to sneak this one through in this resolution! Lets keep the issues separate! This was only about stopping a govt shutdown! The crybabies only claim PARTISON politecs when they dont get THEIR way!

    • Uriel says:

I have always advocated for bills ONLY covering one item. If porkers are brought back that is a nasty game changer.

  7. Terry says:

Where is your compassion people ?
The dems are fighting for their lives. Without the illegal’s votes, they may never see office again.

  8. Whitetop says:

Republicans have been caving to democrats for years regardless of who is in power. Trump kicked the shit out of their top candidate so they have one loss; get over it because you are about to get more. Maybe McConnell will start getting a spine and start acting like a conservative instead of a Rino.
