  1. He’s right. They’re always starting new programs to cater to some obscure group that others would never benefit from.
I’ve been an advocate of a flat tax since I started working at 14. If everyone paid a simple rate, say 10%, no one would face an increase when they breached a line, as they do now. It would be fair to all, not just some.
And I also advocate ZERO deductions for anyone except same-year business investments and child care/adult care expenses.

Wow! What great insight! Spot on! I never thought of it that way, but he is right.

That is why government programs never go away; they just come up with new ones so they can continue taxing. I have often wondered how we can get control of the elected servants wages and benefits. Most members of congress are lawyers but how many could make $174K/yr using their legal skills? When they leave they get a nice retirement benefit.
It was funny when the former mayor of San Antonio lost her bid for re-election last year she filed for unemployment benefits. Talk about brass balls. Fortunately her application was denied which was surprising because SA is a very liberal city.

Offering free-shit with other people’s money has always been the way for politicians, while at the same time they exempt themselves. Great work if you can get it.
