Rene Boucher is Rand Paul’s neighbor, each man owning a multi-thousand square foot home on the same street in the tony town of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Rene Boucher is a registered Democrat, a staunch supporter of gun control legislation, and a fanboy for Obamacare and all forms of socialized medicine.
On Friday 3 November, Boucher succumbed to Trump Derangement Syndrome and, channeling the spirit of AntiFa, physically assaulted Rand Paul as Paul was mowing his lawn. Paul suffered five broken ribs, lung bruises, and unspecified other internal injuries that are severe enough that he cannot return to his Senate seat in Washington for several days. Boucher did not use a gun (ha ha) but rather an unnamed blunt object to do his handiwork on Paul.
Boucher’s Fakebook page proclaims his hatred of all things Trump, his love of socialism and support for socialized medicine, and the fact that he is “the opposite of Rand Paul in every way”. Having lost at the ballot box and in the arena of competitive ideas, Boucher took the preferred leftist road to solving his problems, by cowardly attacking his unarmed “opponent” from behind. Boucher likely noted that Paul was wearing noise-cancelling earplugs as he rode his lawnmower and, sneaky turd that he is, seized the moment to RISE UP and STRIKE A BLOW FOR THE PEOPLE!
Trump-Hating Socialist Attacks Rand Paul at His Home, Breaks Five Ribs …Expect any less from a leftist?
On Friday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) was at home in Bowling Green mowing his lawn when a neighbor sneaked up from behind and attacked. The assault was so vicious, it broke five of Paul’s ribs.
According to multiple reports, the senator was on his riding lawn mower in the afternoon and stepped off to check something in the yard. With earplugs in, Paul didn’t hear his neighbor, 59-year-old anesthesiologist Rene Boucher, approach. Initial reports didn’t list the injuries as that severe, however The Washington Post confirms:Doug Stafford, Paul’s chief of staff, said in a statement Sunday that the senator has five rib fractures, including three displaced fractures, meaning the bones are partly or completely cracked…
Paul has lung contusions, or bruises, caused by the broken ribs, Stafford said. He could not say whether one lung was bruised or both, but said Paul’s recovery could last several months. Such fractures can cause other significant medical problems, including internal bleeding, damage to other organs or pneumonia.
The pain is so severe, Paul can’t return to Washington and it’s unknown when he will be able to fly.
It is believed that Paul, an ophthalmologist who still treats low-income patients for free in his spare time, and Boucher may have worked in the same hospital at some point, but it’s unclear how well they knew each other. According to this picture, they lived right next to each other:
A dig into Boucher’s Facebook post reveals what we’ve come to expect from those launching these kinds of attacks: he is an angry, Trump-hating leftist whose acquaintances describe him as an “avowed socialist” and “pretty much the opposite of Rand Paul in every way,” including being an advocate for socialized medicine. Here’s a picture of the coward (check that arrogant, defiant stare):
Amazingly, Boucher was released Saturday on a paltry $7,500 bond and will appear in court on Thursday. He is charged with fourth-degree assault.
Paul responded after the attack, “Kelley and I appreciate the overwhelming support after Friday’s unfortunate event. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.”
The senator was also present earlier this year when another crazed leftist opened fire while they practiced for a charity baseball game, which left Rep. Steve Scalise severely injured. Paul was not hit in the gunfire. (Careful, Rand, the next incident you’re involved in will be three on a match….)
This Boucher dickwad is apparently trying to one-up Bernie Sanders, everyone’s favorite Toy Socialist. The Bern owns (it’s said) five homes, two of which are valued in the millions, and at least one luxury automobile. And his wife made a minor killing flipping land and scamming Uncle Sam at a snooty New England college. But Bernie Sanders is a proponent of socialism because it’s, like, well, y’know, fairer.
Let’s consider why Rene Boucher might be an avowed socialist. Realize that anesthesiologists do not earn chump change; their taxable income before dodges and scams is on a par with that of your family G.P. The October 2017 median annual income for general physicians and anesthesiologists in Lexington, Kentucky is $345,995 (www1.salary.com/KY). Judging by the photo of monsieur Boucher’s humble cottage in Bowling Green, it seems unlikely that he is overly concerned with the plight of Kentucky’s poor. Oh, and Boucher is so impoverished he was able to retire from his medical career …. at age 59.
Other than his political views, Boucher is apparently no fool, and is capable of earning his was as a capitalistic entrepreneur:
“Boucher is an anesthesiologist and pain specialist. He got his medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine after being pre-med at Providence College in Rhode Island, according to Doximity. Boucher has practiced medicine since 1982 and attended high school in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Between 1985 and 1993, Boucher was a pain management specialist at the Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco where he also did his residency.
In 2005, Boucher appeared on QVC marketing a rice-filled vest that was designed to alleviate back pain, reported the Bowling Green Daily News. The vest retailed at $30 and had to be microwaved before use. The website for Therm-a-Vest is no longer active. WAVE reports that Boucher retired in 2015.” http://heavy.com/news/2017/11/rene-boucher-rand-paul-assault/?ref=hvper.com
I personally know of an anesthesiologist in a low-rent town in eastern Tennessee whose earnings support an estate in the suburbs complete with barns, pastures, and several Arabian horses. This same underprivileged gentleman has an oceanside “summer place” on the Maine shore, and a third home somewhere in the deeper south. So Boucher and his fellow needle-and-gas buds cannot be upset with capitalism on the grounds that it has caused them financial pain.
Why, then, Boucher’s extreme opposition to the Trump agenda, his ongoing love of Obamacare, and his hatred of Rand Paul? Perhaps the clue lies in the fact that Paul is credited with personally convincing President Trump to authorize shopping for medical insurance across state lines, which will make insurance more price-competitive, and push Obamacare into financial collapse just that much faster. Does Boucher have a financial stake in the insurance industry, and fears that his income will be damaged as the artificial profits of insurers fall? Boucher’s financial records are not public, so we are in the realm of speculation here.
Boucher’s lawyer, Matthew Baker, attempted to downplay the role of politics in the assault on Rand Paul:
Senator Paul and Dr. Boucher have been next door neighbors for 17 years. They are also prominent members of the local medical community and worked together when they were both practicing physicians.
The unfortunate occurrence of November 3rd has absolutely nothing to do with either’s politics or political agendas. It was a very regrettable dispute between two neighbors over a matter that most people would regard as a trivial. (yeah, Boucher does not like it that Rand Paul has a John Deere mower when Boucher only has one from Sears….)
We sincerely hope that Senator Paul is doing well and that these two gentlemen can get back to being neighbors as quickly as possible. https://heavy.com/news/2017/11/rene-boucher-rand-paul-assault/
Bullsh*t, steaming fresh bulls*it, Mister Baker esquire, and you know it. Your client’s actions and public statements tell us all we need to know about motive. Your client’s cowardly tactics underscore his unspoken alliance with the violent, deranged Left in our country today. A “fourth class assault” with bail of $7500. More bullsh*t.
So maybe Rene Boucher thought he was Jesse “The Body” Ventura, seeking revenge for a poor little member of the leftard lying media who lied to a Republican congressman one time too many, and got decked for it. Consider this:
Boucher Shared an Article on His Facebook Page About a Republican Congressman ‘Body Slamming’ a Reporter. In May 2017, Boucher shared a story on Facebook about Republican Congressman Greg Gianforte assaulting The Guardian’s Ben Jacobs in Bozeman, Montana. The assault was described as a “body slam” at the time.
Whatever Boucher’s ultimate motivation proves to be, it is clear that we are in open season on outspoken conservatives, folks. You have been warned.
