Medal of Honor Recipient Vietnam Medic “Doc” James McCloughan

This gentleman, James McCloughan, deserves this honor for his devotion far above and beyond the call of duty.  Members of Army medic James McCloughan’s unit in Vietnam called him “Doc.” He became the first person to be awarded the nation’s highest military honor by President Trump.

Trump Presents Medal of Honor to Heroic Vietnam Army Medic 7/31/17

“I feel honored to be able to accept this for the 89 men that fought that battle,” McCloughan said, referencing the number of American combatants, dozens of whom were killed, wounded or went missing during the 48 hours of fighting against hundreds of North Vietnamese and Viet Cong.

What a beautiful tribute to one of the many Vietnam veterans who returned not in triumph but to the scorn of those who met then on our shores.  My heart breaks for all those who like Doc came home to live and return to the country some with broken hearts, bodies, and others as lost souls. Some were long ago friends of mine who have sadly passed on or I have lost touch with.

To all veterans, this is a wonderful tribute to all of you for your patriotism and often forgotten service to our country. May each of you be at peace knowing that in the hearts of patriots of our land, you hold a place of honor and gratitude for your service and bravery under duress.

What is just as powerful in this program, is that we see a REAL American president who is to the bone patriotic whether others choose to understand or not. He didn’t serve in the military as a young man but he does have a deep and abiding respect that shows clearly in this presentation.

To each at the presentation and to all who were not present.

THANK YOU–MAY GOD BLESS YOU.

And the same ones who spit on the returning soldiers in the ’60’s are now spitting on our President.

it’s really sad and a testament to the baseness of some humans that they never learned or matured.–but then rodents don’t really mature much do they?
