Practically every post I scanned recently all were trying to either elevate Obama’s presidency or denigrate President Trump’s. By now readers here know, I can’t resist a challenge on this level so I started researching.
Mostly I used government websites but there was information on Wikipedia I added (so sue me, I like to take a few short cuts), or in some cases information listed in places like Politico and the Times. (equal opportunity you know)
I did not choose to draw out the information only used the minimum wording. (for those more persnickety follow through yourselves, my brain couldn’t handle it and the blog would have been as long as the Obamacare Act.)
Information in blue is Trump’s work. Information in green is Obama. Couple of reasons for this, I divided by topic and month because I wanted you guys to see the difference which is mindblowing. I also wanted to have you compare and contrast the actions under each month to draw your own conclusions. (Green is the color of money “go bye-bye”, blue is “true blue patriot”… at least here for my purposes.)
Part 1 is an overview of the main actions per administration which mostly pertain strictly to the president or particularly illuminating things or key words. This does not include the asinine attitudes during either of their first months because as I came to see even Obama had dissension in the ranks and conservatives did marches and protests although with a lot less vitriol and violence.

Phew at the end of a very long six months. Of course that is a lot of choppy words but I couldn’t add a lot more. A little bit may seem wrong or lacking but for the most part I tried my best to gather intel correctly. However, the best sources for Obama on past presidential actions is no longer easily accessible so it is hunt and hope there is enough there.
Anyone see anything interesting in this information? Add your comments and I will add mine later.
Part 2 is a look at the nominations sent through per president, the bills they signed into law (reflecting upon congress as well as the presidents), and where they visited inside the US (possibly a bit more).
BTW Obama wasn’t stupid…he knew exactly why he used memorandums just like executive orders. Memorandums do not exist in the same area of Library records. At least for a time they appear to have been housed under Office of Management and Budget. In fact except for those listed above, I have no real idea how many others no longer can be found or where–so much for transparency. Also don’t forget, Obama made at least a few of his executive orders “private” which means without FOIA and maybe not then will we ever know for sure their content.
Trump has been using the memorandums as I thought they would have been used–to speak in letter form more formally to those in their cabinet. Obama, however, used them and at least one other method to hide his “orders” from file retention in the current format.
Apologies to President Trump, as I began Part 2 I realized I had duplicated his June business with Obama actions. The truth of Trump’s actions is far more active and positive than Obama’s.
