A HATE preacher whose videos were watched by one of the London Bridge terror attackers has fled his home in America.
Ahmad Musa Jibril left his home in Dearborn, Michigan, so quickly he left his sandals on the deck. His sister and mother, who live nearby, have also gone into hiding, the MailOnline reported.
Videos posted by Jibril online, in which he preached radical Islam, are believed to have helped inspire Khuram Butt, one of the three jihadis who killed eight people and injured 48 in London Bridge and Borough Market.
The Pakistani-born Briton followed Jibril’s clips on YouTube and other video archives in which he preached from his front room where a family album was kept featuring pictures of him dressed as a jihadi fighter.
A friend of Butt, 27, informed counter-terror police he started talking about a “Jihadist Britain”, but officers never called the informant back.
The friend said: “He used to listen to a lot of Musa Jibril. I have heard some of this stuff and its very radical. I am surprised this stuff is still on YouTube and is easily accessible.”
Jibril’s jihadi sympathies were uncovered when he was jailed for six years in Detroit in 2005 for attempting to steal from taxpayers, with multiple charges including fraud, money-laundering and mail fraud.
At the time, the criminal, who has 43,000 Twitter followers, attempted to take credit for a 1995 al Qaeda bombing which killed four Americans.
The court heard how he ran his website from the home he shared with his father and they found a collection of weapons when they battered down his door as he tried to escape from his bedroom window.
According to Counter Extremism Project, Ahmad Musa Jibril is an Arab-American Islamist preacher who has reportedly influenced Westerners to fight in the Syrian conflict. He was born in Dearborn, Michigan of Palestinian immigrants. He holds a degree in sharia (Islamic law) from the Islamic University in Saudi Arabia as well as a JD and LLM from a Michigan law school.
He was arrested in 2003 for money laundering. Jibril spent almost seven years in prison on fraud charges before he was released on probation in 2012. A federal judge restricted Jibril’s Internet and social-media access in June 2014 after Jibril violated his probation. The restrictions expired in March 2015. Jibril had not yet returned to his digital pulpit as of June 2017. Nevertheless, online jihadists continue to share Jibril’s lectures and videos.
From his home in Michigan, Jibril produces Internet lectures that advocate a Salafist version of Islam that praises jihad, although he doesn’t specifically call upon his followers to join jihadi groups. A 2014 report by the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation (ICSR) found that Jibril “adopts the role of a cheerleader: supporting the principles of armed opposition to Assad.”
Jibril has been banned from at least two Michigan mosques due to his extremist views.
In April 2014, ICSR researchers found that 60 percent of foreign fighters in Syria followed Jibril on Twitter. Jibril has been in direct contact with several foreign fighters and families of deceased fighters.
Jibril’s YouTube page has more than 16,000 subscribers as of June 2017. Jibril’s Twitter account, has more than more than 43,000 followers. His Facebook page, under the name Shaykh Ahmad Musa Jibril, has more than 240,000 likes, although he has not updated it since July 2014. A second Facebook page called “Gems of shaykh Ahmad Musa Jibril” is updated more regularly with Jibril’s lectures and videos. The page has more than 15,000 followers.
Folks this imam and his activities area a blaring reason to hate Obama and his administration for their deliberate efforts to play blind, deaf, and dumb to the activities of radical Islamic imams in the United States. Those liberals and Democrats who continue to support radical Islamic activities have blood on their own hands and should be held to account for their activities.
If this one center can provide this kind of up-to-date-information on a rogue imam that even mosques in the area refused to allow to proselytize in, then what kind of information does the FBI and DoJ have available? Why did the FBI ignore his online activities? Why the heck has You Tube not been forced to remove all of his accounts online? And WHY didn’t authorities listen when the informant tried to tell them about a possible terrorist?
I seriously doubt this is the only radical imam in the US nor even a mosque preaching hate. It is time to “take out the garbage”. Had his videos not been online would at least one of those killers in London been less likely to be involved in such a travesty?
Eliminating starts with knowing what is posted on social media sites and having it removed. Then doing something about the one fomenting the hateful sermons. I blame You Tube for not vetting their sites for Muslim Hate Speech and teaching videos. I blame the FBI and NSA or whatever clandestine cyber agencies for not being proactive in his removal and that of his offensive videos. No excuses are good enough. If even one death had been prevented, then it would have helped. But, social media would rather be PC than responsible.
