Central Falls, Rhode Island – Police found a 20-year-old man, Mael Vasquez, sitting on the porch of the home with a gun. He told police that he had just shot an intruder who attacked him in the basement. The officers found a man in the basement, later identified as 43 year-old Maurice Botelho, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Botehlo was pronounced DOT at Rhode Island Hospital. Investigators said Sunday afternoon that Vasquez’s gun was stolen, and therefore police will charge him with possession of a stolen firearm – but so far that is the only charge he is facing.
Nashville, Tennessee – Metro police told News 2 a group of people were inside the store when at least three armed suspects came in through an unlocked back door and began firing. Witnesses said one of the people in the group was able to wrestle one of the suspect’s gun away and exchanged fired with at least one person. The three gunmen fled and a 22-year-old inside the store called police. Responding officers discovered 19-year-old Damelvian Evans critically injured behind the business. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and pronounced DOT.
Tucson, Arizona – According to deputy Cody Gress, a call came in at 4:15 a.m. about two or three armed suspects broke into a home in the 2200 block of West Oregon. The residents and home invaders exchanged gunfire, and deputies later discovered a body of a man who was DRT.
Tucson, Arizona – Pima County Sheriff’s deputies say they’re investigating a home invasion and the discovery of a body on the southwest side of Tucson. They say the home invasion occurred about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. The man’s body was found DOT about an hour later more than 3 miles away.
Miami, Florida – Miami police said the man told police his home was being burglarized so he opened fire. The burglar was DRT.
