Those Of Us Spanked By BrianR

back in 2008, via the Saint Crispin’s Day Society should be reminded to thank BrianR once again. Now few of us read Rolling Stone because it is a POS on par with the NY “fishwrap” Times however, even a blind pig find an acorn once in awhile.

EXCERPT:  “Dramesi, who went on to serve as chief war planner for U.S. Air Forces in Europe and commander of a wing of the Strategic Air Command, was not surprised. “McCain says his life changed while he was in Vietnam, and he is now a different man,” Dramesi says today. “But he’s still the undisciplined, spoiled brat that he was when he went in.”

EXCERPT:  “In McCain’s version of his life, he is a prodigal son who, steeled by his brutal internment in Vietnam, learned to put “country first.” Remade by the Keating Five scandal that nearly wrecked his career, the story goes, McCain re-emerged as a “reformer” and a “maverick,” righteously eschewing anything that “might even tangentially be construed as a less than proper use of my office.”

It’s a myth McCain has cultivated throughout his decades in Washington. But during the course of this year’s campaign, the mask has slipped. “Let’s face it,” says Larry Wilkerson, a retired Army colonel who served as chief of staff to Secretary of State Colin Powell. “John McCain made his reputation on the fact that he doesn’t bend his principles for politics. That’s just not true.”

and finally, after the USS Forrestal incident…

EXCERPT:  “But when Apple and other reporters left the ship, the story took an even stranger turn: McCain left with them. As the heroic crew of the Forrestal mourned its fallen brothers and the broken ship limped toward the Philippines for repairs, McCain zipped off to Saigon for what he recalls as “some welcome R&R.

That was a spanking to remember! haha! BTW, it was as right on target now as it was then.

  2. Cruel and unusual punishment in North Vietnam apparently prepared him for the hazardous act of kissing Hillary.

  3. Sun Tzu says:

McCain is the true Manchurian candidate, period….

Had his daddy and grand daddy not been admirals he would never have made it through his Plebe Year at The School much less been accepted for pilot training.

Not only was that one an eye-opener, but that ass-whupping screwed my head on straight. I STILL don’t give a rat’s ass that we were pilloried for not supporting the assmunch. Would do the same tomorrow.

  6. Hardnox says:

Guilty as charged. I voted for McCain over the Brown Clown. Technically, I voted for Sarah Palin not McCain. McCain threw that election away and I will never forgive him for foisting 8 years of horror on America.
