Wild Bill: Scaring Silly People

Environmental Wackos have been scamming people for almost 100 years…

I remember back in the 70’s we were all supposed to freeze to death within 50 years, so said the “experts”.  Then that fell on deaf ears and fizzled out.  Enter Al Gore, unemployed and defeated dim presidential candidate, looking for employment, next thing we know the planet will be melting.  Gore came up with the “carbon credit” scheme, or at least he pushed the idea, and it caught on.  Governments embraced it as it created a new taxable revenue scheme.  Brokers embraced it as a new stock where no product needed to be produced but still reaping big dividends from literally nothing more than thin air.  The tree-humpers embraced it as a unicorn fantasy means to curtail the horrible effects of fossil fuels.

It’s a friggin rip-off of the highest order and a means to screw the consumer… period, stop… end of story.

Meanwhile, the Saudis, Russia, and other oil producing nations are pouring money into the groups that wish to see our oil and gas production halted.

Fortunately, we have a president who sees the bullshit for what it is.

Figured this out myself yrs ago. Talking w/an elderly lady friend. She was telling me she used the ‘environmental green friendly’ dishwashing soap. Liked it really well, except that it didn’t suds up very much–didn’t get the dirty pots/pans very clean. So she had to use a lot more of it. That meant she ran out of it faster, had to buy more, sooner and …well…geez, it was expensive. But she was just fine w/all that–after all, SHE was helping the environment.
I thought, ‘gee–if I’m the dishwashing soap maker, i’m laughing all the way to the bank–I can toss out an inferior product, charge more for it, sell more of it more often & just tell my hapless customer it’s ‘environmentally friendly’ & they’ll be perfectly happy w/it.
You can’t make this stuff up.

How about putting ethanol in our gasoline?
Less energy efficient. <Your fuel economy suffered.
Increased trouble with older engines. <Why does that old Cub Cadet keep quitting when I cut the grass?
Took food out of the cow's mouth and you pay more at the grocery store.
Increased the farm land used for growing corn. <Honey Bees need not apply.
We are on the road to energy self sufficiency. <Shouldn't need to water down our gasoline.

Just another permanent government fiasco that will be hard to get rid of because of lobbyists.

Tests in California years ago showed that while the “new” gas produced less crap per gallon, because it cut mileage so badly, we actually produced more crap per mile traveled.

Also, as I remember, Scientific American ran cover articles about both global warming and global cooling back into the 1880’s. They changed what the problem was every 30-40 years. In the 1970’s we were gonna freeze to death.
