Sunday Feel Good Stories

Des Moines, Iowa – Police say that around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a disturbance call at a home at S. 234th Street and 17th Place S. (map below), where an armed man was behaving erratically.

Initial reports were that the man was armed with a knife, but when police arrived, they found the suspect had a machete.

Another person was also reported to be inside the house, but it is unclear whether the machete-wielding suspect lived there, or what the relationship between the two might be.

Police from Des Moines, Tukwila and Kent responded, and found the machete-wielding suspect walking in and out of the home.

Deputies ordered the suspect to put his weapon down, but he refused so the machete wielding man is now DRT.

Detroit, Michigan – an armed 21-year-old thought that kicking down an ex-girlfriend’s door would win her back, he didn’t count on her 32-year-old brother being there with his own handgun. The former boyfriend was shot several times and he was DRT (dead right there) when the police arrived.

Houston, Texas – 62-year-old man, fought off a male and female couple who forced their way into his home. The man stabbed both with a kitchen knife killing the male DRT and wounding the woman so badly that she left a trail of DNA for the police to follow.

Edmonson County, Kentucky – a teenager encountered two intruders in his home. The youngster judiciously applied a shotgun to the situation. One of the thieves was wounded in his abdomen and was sent to the hospital in critical condition while his partner went to the local hoosegow.

Redding, California, where an intruder made the bright decision to attempt a break-in to the house of an off-duty California Highway Patrol Officer. Officers arrived to find the CHP holding the criminal at gunpoint and well-ventilated. The criminal was pronounced DOT (dead over there) a the hospital.

Cincinnati, Ohio – Police responded to a possible burglary-in-progress call. They said a resident in the house fired at least one shot, killing the suspected burglar DRT.

Hobe Sound, Florida – A man had threatened his estranged wife and her brother who had applied for a protective order against the man, and it was denied by the judge, because there was no evidence of actual violence.  The hours later the man arrived at his estranged wife’s house where her brother was waiting in a parked car on her front yard.  The man advanced on the brother with threats of bodily harm and the brother ventilated him.  The man was pronounced DRT.  The brother has been released after an investigation and no charges are expected to be filed.

This story is sorta funny… and doesn’t involve a firearm:

Grand Rapids, Michigan – a cab driver dropped off a passenger at an intersection.  Another man approached the cab wielding a hammer demanding money from the driver.  The cabbie quickly drove off and the hammer guy advanced whereas he was then immediately run over by another car DRTing him.  Proof once again, never bring a hammer to a car fight.

Wow – lots of my favorite DRT’s. I like what LL said about that gun toting woman the police ran over and made DRT, “The moral to this story is that you can run, but you’ll only die tired.”
