House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) tweeted out a question late on Monday about people’s experiences with Obamacare but did not get the response she was looking for.

Last week Republicans released their new health care plan intended to replaced the Affordable Care Act. Democrats have been gearing up to fight back against the new plan and plan to make health care a 2018 mid-term election issue.

Pelosi tweeted out a link to the White House website, asking her followers to share their experience with the Affordable Care Act. Pelosi wanted feedback on why Democrats must protect Obamacare, but she did not get the answers she was looking for.

The Answers she got——–

— I’m now spending almost 20K p/y on my health insurance and when my primary retired near impossible 2 find a replacement.
— My costs have sky rocketed under Obamacare. Out of pocket almost twice what paid pre-Ocare. FullRepeal
— Even my husband’s oncologist said, we’d do better if we had medical! He hates ACA too!
— What exactly is your experience with #ACA, Nancy? Ohhhhh, almost forgot, congress is exempt!
— SERIOUSLY ‼ I’m 63, husband 62, NO HEALTHCARE!! Can’t afford. You need to go away and let #POTUS do his great Job #MAGA

Users aired their grievances about the rising cost of health care.

— health care insurance for dad & two younger siblings is $800 per month. this is NOT affordable for a middle class fam.
— cost went through the roof.
— My costs have sky rocketed under Obamacare. Out of pocket almost twice what paid pre-Ocare. FullRepeal
— my premium has skyrocketed thanks to Obamacare and why I’m a trump supporter now.
— She knows its a failure and average working Americans cant afford it yet she continues with her lies.

Others just simply expressed how the Affordable Health Care Act is “not working.”

— Please get rid of ACA! It is financially devastating to us in the middle class! We need to care for our families!
— I need surgery and can’t get it cause deductible is too high! Been in pain for 2 years!
— Say where are the $2500 savings Obama & you promised?
— 26 million ppl will lose their healthcare…tell me how that is better. We can #fixaca
— its “affordable” if u hardly work. then u can get the best plan for almost free #sadbuttrue

The Republican bill intending to replace Obamacare, the American Health Care Act, would reduce the federal deficit by $337 billion over 10 years, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after House Republicans announced the Manager’s Amendment to the TrumpCare bill to be made in the Rules Committee:

“Republicans’ manager’s amendment only confirms that TrumpCare is broken beyond fixing.  The amendment shows Republicans are committed to making tens of millions of American families suffer for the sake of handing even bigger tax giveaways to billionaires.

“Last night, House Republicans all but admitted they cannot fix the crushing costs that TrumpCare’s Age Tax dumps on middle-aged and older Americans.  If anything, Republicans have made TrumpCare even more destructive to the Americans who depend on Medicaid.  House Republicans are even trying to buy upstate New York Republican votes with a spiteful special provision to force Medicaid cuts or tax increases across the entire state of New York.

“Republicans are trying to put lipstick on a pig.  No matter how the Republicans try to dress it up, TrumpCare is a plan to push 24 million people off their health coverage and force Americans to pay more for less health care.”

@HouseGOP’s trying to put lipstick on a pig, but they can’t hide that #TrumpCare will kick 24 million off coverage.

My parents used to say “can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear”…think Nancy P proves the point.

Nancy stole the purse, and is the sow.

My wife is still working but I am retired. She has healthcare coverage at work. Between what they deduct from her paycheck and the company contribution, the total is $28k per year, plus my medicare deduction.
Now, our local shopping mall just closed a Macy’s store, Penney’s is next on the list and Sears is in dire straights. Do you know why? It’s because people don’t have the spendable extra dollars that are being sucked out of our pockets by the so called “Affordable Care Act.”
    Suck on that Nancy.

That is the truth. I’m sorry you are going through this IR. I am sure those managing homeless shelters and food banks know of many across the nation forgotten because they lost jobs and their families are suffering all because congress Dimwits and RINOS have done their best to destroy our republic.

I.R. we are in a similar situation with cost. If you listen to the news they claim brick and mortar stores are closing because of on line sales. Not true in my opinion. Like you said no extra cash to shop. People are making do with what they have. I personally would like a repeal and open market to buy what we need to take care of what Medicare won’t. Everybody has their situation. President Trump should not be involved in this process. No balls Ryan and McConnell should be doing it. I personally think they had no intention to repeal it. The 50+ times was for show only.
They are part of the swamp.

I agree Shar. If it were not for my sons and being below subsistence level I would be homeless or dead. I am definitely not the only senior in such straights but it breaks my heart that young families also are in the same position. Plainly I have few I feel hate for but Pelosi is on the short list.

Folks, please do not bother Miss Pelosi with facts. Her mind is already made up.

  5. I.R. Wayright says:

As long as insurance companies are compelled to cover those with pre-existing conditions, the rest of us will be helping to pay for those individuals with higher premiums. To compel us to buy insurance with exorbitant premiums so that we can subsidize others sounds an awful lot like one foot in the door to socialism.

The goal was to eventually have the ACA fail so we would be forced into a “single payer system.” In other words, they want us to be like European countries with a government run healthcare system and taxes at a 60%+ level for anyone lucky enough to have a job or a business. You will end up with less freedom, fewer choices and a vastly different life style.

  6. Shar says:

I.R. I agree they wanted single payer system. Probably medicare for all.
