GOP Senators Request SoS Tillerson to Investigate Soros Meddling

Yay!  Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mar 14 2017

WASHINGTON  – Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) and a group of Senators called on Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson today to immediately investigate how US funds are being used by the State Department and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to support left-of-center political groups and impress left-leaning policies on sovereign nations, regardless of their desire for self-determination. One such group is USAID multi-grant recipient, the George Soros-backed Open Society Foundations. Sen. Lee and his colleagues believe this behavior is unacceptable and must be halted immediately.

Sens. Inhofe (R-OK), Tillis (R-NC), Cruz (R-TX), Perdue (R-GA), and Cassidy (R-LA) join in signing the letter.

“Over the past few months, elected officials and political leaders of foreign nations have been coming to me with disappointing news and reports of US activity in their respective countries. This includes reports of diplomats playing political favorites, USAID funds supporting extreme and sometimes violent political activists, and the US Government working to marginalize the moderates and conservatives in leadership roles,” Sen. Lee said. “This sort of political favoritism from our missions around the world is unacceptable and endangers our bilateral relationships.”

The letter calls on Secretary Tillerson to, “…investigate all funds associated with promoting democracy and governance and review the programs, accounts, and multiplicity of US entities involved in such activities. We must … review how all our tax dollars are being utilized in order to halt activities that are fomenting political unrest, disrespecting national sovereignty and civil society, and ultimately undermine our attempts to build beneficial international relationships.”

The most damaging consequence of the United States weighing in so heavily on one side of the political spectrum abroad is that we ostracize many foreign citizens who have traditionally supported strong relations with the United States. Such division allows aggressive opportunists like Russia space to operate and cause further damage.

Sen. Lee is hopeful Secretary Tillerson acts quickly on this issue and looks forward to continuing to work with him in the future.

    One step at a time….

Many, many more than 8 years, ‘Nox. Whoros nearly collapsed the Bank of England back in 1992 with his currency manipulation schemes. This is long, long overdue, and I’d wager that Tillerson could get the AGs of a few other European nations to sign on with him for a cross-border pursuit and eventual necktie party for ol’ Curious George.

    • Hardnox says:

I know, but he had total immunity with Batears in charge. The extradition warrant from Russia is still valid.

Him as worm food would be a good start. It’s not just Soros either.

  3. SafeSpace says:

Where are all the Democrat Senators’ signatures on this letter …. ?

    • Hardnox says:

They’re on his payroll… never mind.

The question is where are the other R signatures? McCain already is out since he gets $ from Soros.

  4. clyde says:

Shit, they know where he lives. Drone the bastard.

Clyde has the right idea. Also let the drone carry a second charge for Obamashit.

Here’s an idea; Stop all of our tax dollars from being used overseas for any political purpose. You won’t need a review. Saving more money. And time.

    • Hardnox says:

Careful I.R. even Ronaldus magnus did it in Nicaragua and elsewhere.

The point is, having Soros seed the winds of discontent here and abroad with taxpayer monies is bullshit. It is sedition here and no doubt a similar crime abroad.

  7. The Night Wind says:

I’ve been following this story—it’s going to blow up into a bigger scandal. To give the background to it: Obama and Soros were trying to foment a ‘color revolution’ regime-change in Macedonia (one of the countries that broke off from Yugoslavia). There was a violent upheaval there, but the revolution failed, and Macedonian government began an investigation into Soros’ complicity in it. They found proof that the US Embassy was involved through a State Department bureaucracy called USAID. Around the time of Trump’s Inauguration, the Macedonians protested to the State Department—it came to the attention of Senator Lee who got some of his colleagues in the House to open a formal inquiry. This letter to Tillerson is the result of the House Inquiry.

There’s also Congressional Inquiry now into Soros’ domestic activities. Some are alleging that Holder and Lynch were filing bogus civil rights suits against municipalities and private business, then getting them to settle out of court for donations to Soros-backed front-groups. Don’t expect the MSM to cover any of this, though.

Mostly agree, IR with blocking use of American $ for political purposes abroad. The last nation to support us 100% was Iran under Shaw Pavlavi. However, there could be some places where the use of funds in politics of the foreign nation might be necessary and proper. ot often. Not regular. Rare, but possible (and no, right now, I do not know what they might be, but I don’t want to cut our throat just to clean up the filth that was left in the sty.

    • I.R. Wayright says:

Given the fact that this country is beyond broke, I would otherwise agree with you.
You are just starting to see the fist vestiges of austerity but there will be lots more to come. When Donald Trump said, “I inherited a mess.” This is what he meant.
We can no longer conduct our foreign policy on a credit card. Those days are over.
