Houston, Texas – Two alleged robbers got into a shootout with a clerk at a convenience store in east Houston late Thursday.
The 55-year-old clerk was wounded and one of the thugs was DRT. A second suspect fled the scene and it is unknown if he was shot. Police released surveillance images of the wanted second suspect. The wounded clerk was rushed to the hospital and is in critical condition.
St. Louis, MO – A shooting victim exchanged gunfire with a suspect, killing him, in north St. Louis Thursday night.
The 37-year-old victim told police he was in his vehicle in the 5700 block of Delmar when the suspect, later identified as 34-year-old Marcus Portis, approached him and began yelling while showing a gun. After approaching the victim, Portis reportedly fired several gunshots, striking the victim. Then, the victim retrieved his own gun and returned fire, hitting the suspect.
According to police, after the gunshots were fired, Portis ran from the area and eventually collapsed DOT. The victim was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the thigh and listed in stable condition.
Baton Rouge, LA – Anthony Gordon Jr., 40, tried to force his way into a home with a firearm. The elderly resident of the home subsequently, took that firearm from Gordon and shot him with the gun. Gordon was DRT.
Indianapolis, IN – a clerk told police that the suspect had attempted to rob the gas station when he fired at him. Levi Walker, 20, was pronounced DRT at the scene. Police say they will be looking at surveillance video to determine if the clerk acted in self-defense. A spokesperson for IMPD says a gun was found on the suspect. The clerk was not injured in the shooting.
Arlington, TX – A convenience store clerk in Arlington DRT’d a man who was reportedly trying to rob the store Monday night. The clerk told police that two people entered the store and that one pulled out a gun and the clerk shot him.
Del City, OK – A homeowner told police he shot a man who aggressively came through his front door Saturday night. The suspect was taken to OU Medical Center by paramedics and was DOT at the hospital. The homeowner was also taken to a hospital for his injury.
Columbia, SC – Two men tried robbing a barber shop at gunpoint, but a couple of concealed carry holders getting haircuts stopped them. Several people, including children, were reportedly inside the shop at the time of the robbery. The suspects were filmed on surveillance video.
The thugs told several customers and barbers to get on the floor. Others were forced to stay in their chairs with their hands up. When the suspects turned their backs, one of the men getting his hair cut reached into his pocket and pulled out a gun and began firing. A second customer joined in.
Columbia police said two of the victims were concealed carry permit holders and were waiting for the moment to strike. The men shot at both suspects, hitting one of the men, who collapsed outside the business. He was pronounced DOT after being taken to a nearby hospital.
