President Trump has chosen General H.R. McMaster as National Security Adviser and there’s plenty to be happy about. Here are five points to consider with his choice.
Just bought his book about McNamara. Probably have to read it in stages since the LBJ/McNamara Era was pure dog crap.
McNamara should have stuck to selling Fords because he was bloody useless at running a war. He was the clown that started all this ‘systems analysis’ crap whereby all the so-called intel was fed into a computer program and crunched. Apparently in 1968, after Tet, the computer was asked when the war would be won. It hummed and hahhed and then spat out the answer – ‘1967’.
Worst thing that shite-head did was get rid of professional lower class.
There are some people who are the “best seaman in the world” but couldn’t lead hungry wolves top dead meat. No business being a Petty Officer. Same thing, there are some officers who should never rise above Lieutenant JG. But in that spot are God’s gift to the Navy, the ship, and especially the Commanding Officer.
These guys would spend 20-25 years as an E-3 or an O-2, get promoted to E-4 or O-3 retire a month after promotion.
Robby Mac decided that if you were not advancing then you were not producing, and brought the “up-or-out” into the military. This meant that quality troopies were dropped because they could not advance, and num-nuts were kept because they could advance. The Peter Principle gone astray.
Long-term NCOs are what makes a professional army – or navy etc. Who would you rather learn from, a 15 year decorated combat veteran or some nubie 2nd looey fresh from OTC? It’s a no-brainer for anyone with service time. You defer to experience otherwise you can run the risk of getting your and your platoons arses shot off. It’s called OJT and is passed down through the ranks as you’ll well know vM.
