Trump Is Not Wrong – Election Integrity Can Be Handled Without Congressional Action

UPDATE on my article: “Citizens Have The Right To Be Reassured Before Any More Elections”.

Anyone that continues to note there is no evidence of poor election integrity needs their heads examined. Media needs to start investigating for themselves and stop hyping false information. States that are not already actively updating their data really need to get their “ducks in a row”.  As you know there is an actual administration now operating who believes in the constitution and has every right and obligation to ensure we as citizens have no more doubts about forthcoming elections.

Trump may be the most vocal and visible but there are other highly respected groups already discussing and in some cases bringing lawsuits on the integrity of elections across the country.

WND just posted an interview with Former Federal Elections Commission member Hans von Spakovsky entitled “Election expert: ‘Obama told a whopper of a lie’ on voter fraud”. Read the article HERE.

In a November 13, 2016 post, Spakovsky who now manages Election Law Reform Initiative at the Heritage Foundation wrote about election fraud going into detail about several incidents of fraud in the election system.

…while watchdog groups and investigative journalists uncover election fraud virtually everywhere they look, the U.S. Justice Department and self-proclaimed civil rights groups have attacked voter ID laws in the courts. They have sued to stop states from requiring people to provide proof of U.S. citizenship at the time they register, despite the reports from all over the country that noncitizens — both legal and illegal — are registering and voting.

Heritage Foundation has a PDF called “A Sampling of Voter Fraud Cases Across The Country” if interested in learning of more.

Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) is a 501(c)(3) public interest law firm dedicated to election integrity. The Foundation exists to assist states and others to aid the cause of election integrity and fight against lawlessness in American elections. Drawing on numerous experts in the field, PILF seeks to protect the right to vote and preserve the Constitutional framework of American elections. They have been filing lawsuits in several counties and states concerning election integrity in the past year or more.

All that is needed is for Trump to direct his Department of Justice to comply with their “Federal Prosecution of Election Offenses – Seventh Edition, revised August 2007″. Unless there is a newer updated version, this appears to still be applicable and it is available online for any to read in PDF form.

“In 2002, Congress passed the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act (BCRA). One of the goals of this legislation was to close major loopholes involving so-called “soft money” and “issue advocacy” that had developed since enactment of the original Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) in 1971. Another of BCRA’s goals was to provide enhanced criminal penalties for knowing and willful FECA violations. Yet another goal was to put in place a strong sentencing guideline for FECA crimes. The following year the United States Sentencing Commission obliged, promulgating a sentencing guideline, U.S.S.G. § 2C1.8, that recommends imprisonment for most campaign financing offenses. Subsequent First Amendment challenges to BCRA’s broad provisions were resoundingly rejected by the Supreme Court, which upheld the landmark provisions as constitutional anticorruption measures designed to address public corruption and the appearance of public corruption. McConnell v. Federal Election Commission, 540 U.S. 93 (2003).”

During the Obama administration, the Department of Justice did not fulfill their obligations.  This should have been addressed and states in compliance long ago.

Now if only Jeff Sessions could be confirmed so the Department of Justice can actually get to work. But perhaps the Democrats are so worried about setting the record straight on election integrity and a few dozen other serious issues, that they are deliberately stalling because they know that Mr. Sessions is quite capable of running a lawful agency unlike their buddies in the last administration. Now they may have to hope Obama’s flunkies did as he asked and destroyed all their dirty secrets.

  1. I still think it would be easier to dump ALL voter registrations and start over from scratch. That way you don’t have to waste a bunch of time trying to figure out whether or not a particular registrant is breathing or not. And any ineligible could easily be screened out without the proper documentation, it the officials knew how to spot fake documents.

Experts say that Trump could win the union vote this year. In 1996, 30 percent of union households voted for the GOP, then 40 percent voted for Mitt Romney in 2012.

Trump could break 50 percent of the union member vote this year – 7.5 million mostly Democratic voters nationwide.Right now, Mr. Trump and Clinton are tied at 44 percent support among union households, according to a recent Street Journal/NBC News poll.

it is reallly sad that the majority of those in D.C. are OWNED by those who contribute to their campaigns. Please excuse the language BECAUSE IT IS TRUE.
To me? They appear to be prostitutes for their Pimps (Corporations, etc.)

I mostly agree with I.R. on this one. Dump ALL voter registration and start from zero. Maybe even have the Army do the registration and issue a national voter ID card with bio chip in it. Cards could even be issued at the time of registration.

It probably would be a good idea to start over. However, if the average person is like me, I discard anything from the GOP. I was ready to jump ship until Trump got on board.

Regarding confirmations, I think McConnell better get moving with nuclear. Then party time for Sessions. Happy Days are coming.

    • Uriel says:

I agree Shar. Getting a confirmed SCOTUS who believes in following the constitution as written is vital. Sessions needs immediate confirmation in order to get down to cleaning up DOJ and taking on serious issues.

  6. Terry says:

I’m wondering if the left is going to pull out the ‘Consent Decree of 1982’ ?
If you aren’t up on it, you can read about it here.

We wrote about this extensively around the last election.

    • Hardnox says:

They probably will do just that… behind closed doors and the media will willfully not report on it. My gut says that Team Trump will tell them all to pound sand and let the chips fall where they will.

    • Uriel says:

I had no idea about that asinine action Terry. That article was before my time. But makes sense. However the Federal PDF is actual laws and procedures for legal actions. Not sure how that stupid consent decree would fit into that. Considering the video and email evidence of this 2016 election though, would the DNC not be in direct violation of that Consent Decree so if taken to court and those pieces of evidence provided, wouldn’t a “constitutional” judge find the decree no longer valid?

      • Terry says:

A “constitutional judge” just might. The motion to vacate (I think in’09 ) was denied by the lefty judge at that time.
No one has had the balls to take it on since. But I don’t think they will want to go there with Trump.
