    Personally, I suggest taking the state out of education, making it county or district controlled.

    HOWEVER – I would have a Federal Department of Education that consists of not more than 200 persons total. Their job would be to set MINIMUM standards nationwide so that a person moving from one grade to another has met the minimum for that movement. Johnny who doesn’t get 3+4=8 should not be allowed to move up at the same rate as Sally-Same-Age who gets 374/98= 3.18632
