WTF: Trump’s Likely Treasury Boss Is A Professional Swamp-Dweller, ex-Soros Fund Mgmt & Goldman Sachs

Interesting, is it not, that Trump may select Steve Mnuchin (or is it Munchkin), a longtime swamp dwelling high-level player at Goldman Sachs and Soros Fund Management (yes, you read that right ) as Treasury Secretary.  This pick makes the consideration of Romney for SoS look good.

Among the many, many reasons we should beware anything to do with Goldman Sachs, note that they have an entire investment research division dedicated to taking the “man” out of “manufacturing”.  I wonder if this group has been helping Carrier and Ford eliminate jobs?

I haven’t wrapped my head around this appointment yet. It does disturb me.

  2. Popular Front says:

Yes indeed, the rumours are flying about who will be appointed to what, mostly based on speculation. In politics it is axiomatic to ‘not believe anything until it is officially denied’ and Trump watchers/critics should take that as gospel.

Take all this crud about Romney for SecState. After (very) publicly insulting Trump, his beliefs, successes AND his family and trying to derail his election campaign people now think Trump will reward him with the #3 job in his administration? Yeah right. Romney is going to be rewarded with some heavy-duty ‘payback’, of that you can be sure, it only remains for the ‘where’ and ‘when’.

I’m trying to look at it from another angle. Do you put the best money man in at Treasury even though he is a scumbag?

    • Popular Front says:

Good question Gunny. I’d say yes, use the best man for the job but make sure there are a couple of strong execs under him to blow the whistle loud if he goes overboard with assholiness.

I heard someone point out that Mnuchen was an Obama and Hillary supporter. Of course, DJT used to hang with the Clintons when he had to deal with political power brokers/hacks.
Still, I would prefer an all conservative team to lead the way to our recovery from the last eight years of “transformation.”

This one leaves me wondering what the heck to think. One, Trump has a lot of ties to Goldman. How does this fit in? Another his possible pick for Transportation. Both are odd choices. Even the education choice is not what his platform suggested. What is going on? At the same time, he has made good conservative choices in other areas. Still as Popular said, I agree. We can’t take a word for truth until the day it becomes fact. Too many conjectures, not enough truth have been the order of the day since day one. We haven’t even made it through the Electoral College fire yet. Sometimes looking or trying to make sense of actions really is like counting sheep to get some sleep. Ghostly with no substance. Another legacy to lay at Obama’s door–Clinton was right in that politicians are two-faced. But we can only at this point hope that Trump is as good as his word on the issues.

I’m thinking that this is just another one of those “Fake News” stories put out by the liberal media to cause outrage with Trump.

I’ll believe it when Trump says it is so…after Jan 20th, 2017! Right now…it is only speculation.

  7. SafeSpace says:

Gunny Uriel: Let’s say you are General Dwight Eisenhower, and it is 1944. Some of your troops approach you with news that they’ve captured Erwin Rommel alive. You have plenty of ties to the armored, and you know that Rommel may be the best mechanized armor commander in military history. Do you demote George Patton, put Rommel in US uniform, and then give him command of the First and Second Armored Divisions? I would like to believe that Trump is as concerned with the history of loyalty to this nation and its laws and constitution, as he is with tactical success, when he selects men and women for his cabinet. Otherwise Trump’s cabinet members will be little better than mercenaries.

    From what I have heard…..

Mnuchin was with Goldman Sachs but he left quite awhile back….he went on to build another banking system…..

Since he has been in with the world bankers…..and knows his way around…..he might be the best man at this time.

Nothing is written in stone…. Trump just is searching for the people who are best for getting America back on track. He could always change his mind…..

  9. Synicle says:

Maybe he is someone who knows which main plugs to pull in order to drain that part of the swamp real fast, and Trump can get him to do it? Just saying. …
