Quote of the Day

“Up to a point a person’s life is shaped by environment, heredity, and changes in the world about them. Then there comes a time when it lies within their grasp to shape the clay of their life into the sort of thing they wish it to be. Only the weak blame parents, their race, their times, lack of good fortune or the quirks of fate. Everyone has the power to say, “This I am today. That I shall be tomorrow.”

Louis L’Amour

OK, The Grouchmeister used this one back in 2014 – but it’s still valid, even tho he’s gone.

L’Amour was quite the philosopher. Wrote some good Westerns, too.

You can’t beat downhome logic no matter who says it or when. If it is enduring then it is truth. Only we can allow ourselves to be what we choose. Most just like famous people persisted even though they were maligned. There would have been no industrial revolution, cars, polio vaccine, aspirin, great scientists or philosophers otherwise.
