Even Court Judges Tired Of State Department Delays – New Round Of FOIA Woes For Hillary

Judge Orders State Dept To Release Hillary’s Security Training Records, Or Be Deposed

A federal judge ordered the Department of State Wednesday to produce for The Daily Caller News Foundation the security training records of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her aide Huma Abedin within two weeks, or face direct deposition of multiple government officials.

“I’m sure you can appreciate Mr. Lee, there is a certain time sensitivity on this issue,” U.S. District Court Judge Richard J. Leon told Department of Justice Attorney Jason Lee, representing the State Department. “We’re looking down the barrel of a presidential election from now in two months.”

Leon said TheDCNF is, “trying to get to the bottom of this, to what extent Secretary Clinton and probably her immediate staff received training. They’re trying to figure out was the training in writing or orally, (and) how was it done.”

“Let me put it to you this way: You need to discuss with your client whether it would be better to give them the answers to these questions or to have depositions to depose those at the State Department,” Leon said.

The DCNF filed the lawsuit under the Freedom of Information Act last November, after the State Department refused to turn over all records of the security training for Clinton and her top aides.

In a July 29 State Department filing before Leon, attorneys for the State and Justice departments claimed they failed to locate any security briefing documents for Clinton or Abedin.

They further stated the absence of any documents meant that the “courses were not completed” by the secretary or her aides. It is unclear if Clinton explicitly refused to attend the security briefings.

The lack of training may help explain why Clinton saw no problem with setting up a private server in her New York home to process her private email account.

Clinton deliberately skipped a cybersecurity briefing in 2011, and defied national security officials by continuing to bring her unsecured BlackBerry cellphone into the confines of her secure office at the State Department.

Lee tried to deflect further release of records, and suggested that TheDCNF file a new FOIA and forward the request directly to the secretary’s office, rather than before the two department units that conduct training courses and briefings.

Leon forcefully rejected the idea. “If they file a new FOIA request, they’ll probably go to the end of a very long line which is not particularly fair way to resolve this problem,” he said.

If the issue was not resolved by Sept. 15, Leon said he would order depositions by TheDCNF of State Department officials.

Interesting line of pursuit. All federal employees must take courses on specific things. In particular, Obama even wrote an executive order near the end of 2009 on cyber security, classified documents, and training. So did Hillary simply feel she was above mundane, petty regulations despite her own inner office memos telling others to shape up and participate? Or did she and Abedin sign off on having received the training even though they may not have attended? Could liberals really think this kind of snobbish behavior lets a thirty-plus year veteran of politics off the hook?

Such a simple request of information. Every government agency I worked for, state and federal, kept a huge notebook of all compliance documents and training class attendance as well as placing the documents in each employee’s folder for reference.  These idiots know that as does the judge.  One or two simple sheets of paper (about 5 minutes to procure) should not hold up an FOIA request nor have to be filed in a court for a judge to rule on after a year stating that compliance was not a request but a legally authorized demand.

Kerry has been a great absentee boss and good friend by allowing, possibly encouraging, employees to continue stalling so that Hillary has one less headache. Had the former secretary of state been a Republican this would have long ago been settled and paperwork much more quickly produced. But dear flubber Hillary needs all the protection she can get. After all, liberals all know everything in FOIA has been all about politics not real criminal actions on her part.

Hillary pulls that “senior moment blankness”  too often and on cue too quickly.  From one female senior to another — Hillary, keep your day job as granny, you really suck at acting.  I am guessing you really have failed in the family department as well.   Perhaps a clinic or retirement village then, one where constant care can be provided?

She really does suck at acting. I hope they depose all those SOBs. This corrupt State Dept. has been an outrage for far too long.

Totally agree Grunt. I had an ex daughter-in-law strung out for years on Ritlyn? Her bouts of acting out always coincided with lack of pills.

I think is should be spelled Ritalin

The boom is getting lowered on her. I wish they’d hurry up.

It’s one of those timing issues lol. You see if she is in trial but no conviction yet on January whatever when O turns over the reins, then HE can’t pardon her.
