Violence and protests erupted in Milwaukee overnight after a man was fatally shot by police during a foot chase.
Police said the victim, 23, was armed with a handgun and shot dead by an officer after fleeing a traffic stop on Milwaukee’s north side Saturday afternoon.
Hours later angry crowds took to the streets, smashing a police car and setting fire to another. One officer was injured by a flying brick; a gas station and auto-parts store were set alight. Police said gunshots were heard.
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett pleaded for calm at an early morning news conference, asking residents to “do everything” to help restore order.
“If you love your son, if you love your daughter, text them, call them, pull them by the ears and get ’em home,” he said.
Police said at least three people had been arrested as of early Sunday.
The initial crowd — estimated at around 100 people — had thinned early Sunday but there were still “a lot of people out,” Milwaukee Assistant Police Chief James Harpole told reporters.

That certainly provides an assumption of pre-planning, criminal intent, and justification for arresting BLM members to me. It is also being noted that a council member has been siding with radical hate rhetoric of BLM. It’s obvious what should be done to me. Treat this as a terrorist action. Search, investigate, and take to prison all the main members of BLM and other groups involved. Will it happen? Doubtful. Will more incidents and greater violence occur? Absolutely. This is the face of radical terrorism gone amuck on our US streets NO DIFFERENT than Europe.
It also lets us know that the BLM and other thugs involved in last nights destruction, have a ready supply of radicalized individuals who might join and destroy because of their training and agenda for radicalized Islam. ( We already have been told that BLM has been taken under the umbrella of the Muslim Brotherhood.)
[Additional considerations: Refugee Populations in Milwaukee
Islamic Society of Milwaukee on its website notes over 1,100 attend services in mosques around the city. It has a university in the area. Most, if not all are located on the southside of Milwaukee. (it appears like New Orleans there is confusion in direction when referring to N,S,E,W)
There are over 70,000 refugees and former refugee across the state. Most new refugees are resettling in the Milwaukee metropolitan area where the active VOLAG (local volunteer agencies) are. Over 2300 refugees were in Milwaukee in 2013. One example of ethnicity: It is estimated more than 20,000 Somalis are said to live in Wisconsin and possibly as many as a thousand in and around Milwaukee. ]
