Not long ago Stephen Coonts put out a new book. LIBERTY’S LAST STAND.
Islamic terrorists lit the fuse…but a treacherous president planted the bomb.
With the nation in shock over a series of Islamist outrages (shooting up a Catholic grade school and a baseball game are just two of them) by “refugees”, the president of the United States – Barry Soetoro – imposes martial law, cancels the imminent presidential election, and suspends the Constitution. In response, Texas secedes—and what follows is the bloodiest, most harrowing internal insurrection since the Civil War.
The purges that follow arrest thousands of people, including congresscritters, judges of the Supreme Court, and agency heads. The New Black Panthers are incorporated into the Presidential forces.
Note: In reading the Obamacare language 1312 lays out the “SEC. 5210″, which is “Establishing a Ready Reserve Corps”:
(1) IN GENERAL.–here shall be in the Service a commissioned Regular Corps and a Ready Reserve Corps for service in time of national emergency.
(4) ACTIVE DUTY.–Commissioned officers of the Ready Reserve Corps shall at all times be subject to call to active duty by the Surgeon General, including active duty for the purpose of training.
(5) WARRANT OFFICERS.–Warrant officers may be appointed to the Service for the purpose of providing support to the health and delivery systems maintained by the Service and any warrant officer appointed to the Service shall be considered for purposes of this Act and title 37, United States Code, to be a commissioned officer within the Commissioned Corps of the Service.
This section creates a military style force much as the SA/SS were the Party military for the NSDAP.
In the center of the action are former CIA director Jake Grafton *arrested and put in a Camp and former CIA operative Tommy Carmellini (on the run with his sometime girlfriend) with a mission unlike any they’ve had before: save the country from its own president.
With the country in flames, riots in the cities, and America’s armed forces pitted against each other, the American people are confronted with the ultimate political question: Who are we, what do we stand for, and what are we prepared to do about it?
There has been a bunch of talk about FEMA “Concentration Camps”. These show up in the book. There have been dozens of conspiracy theories bandies about some of the more volatile sites.
Now, one of the somewhat more mainstream sites is jumping onto the bandwagon. As the article warns:
Normally military coups are instigated by the right, but a senior fellow with the left-wing Foreign Policy Institute is arguing that an overthrow of the U.S. government might be necessary if Republican nominee Donald Trump is elected president.
What’s more, the op-ed by James Kirchick ran Tuesday in a major U.S. newspaper, the Los Angeles Times.
“Voters must stop him before the military has to,” he concluded.
So, where does fiction end and fact begin? Do we worry? Do we panic? Do we huddle down and hope and pray for the best? (And as a German, I object to the use of German Nazi symbols in the the hammer and sickle of the old Soviet Union should be placed behind Obama/Hillery. Trump as a populist should be represented by the symbol of the (very short lived) Populist Party: The Liberty Bell.
