Quote Of The Day — July 21, 2015

.
My whole life has largely been one of surprises. I believe that any man’s life will be filled with constant, unexpected encouragements of this kind if he makes up his mind to do his level best each day of his life — that is, tries to make each day reach as nearly as possible the high-water mark of pure, unselfish, useful living.

Booker T. Washington, (April 5, 1856 – November 14, 1915) Up From Slavery (1901) Chapter XVII: Last Words

  1. Hardnox says:

Good quote. Too bad B.T. Washington isn’t heralded as a black icon. Imagine where this nation would be today.

    • Grouchy says:

AMEN, Hardnox~! And we do have men of valor and integrity screaming in the void, but are not being listened to. Men like Allen West, Thomas Sowell, Mychal Massie and others. They are NOT getting the attention that the heathens like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Jeremiah Wright are getting. And that’s partly the reason why the obomination is able to carry out his nefarious schemes so thoroughly.

  2. CW says:

Great quote, Grouchy. Booker T. was a class act.

    • Grouchy says:

Yes, he was, CW. He is a man I would be proud to know, and to call, “Friend”. He has some others, that for the time period and the racial climate he lived in, are truly astounding. I’ll be posting them, time to time.
