Quote Of The Day — July 16, 2015

But you can’t make people listen. They have to come round in their own time, wondering what happened and why the world blew up around them. It can’t last.”

Ray Bradbury,  (22 August 1920 – 5 June 2012)  Fahrenheit 451

My Lord! No truer words have ever been spoken.
I remember when I was trying to explain “…….”……I tried and tried UNTIL….you can’t MAKE anyone listen and really think about it.

Once in a while, someone will come back to you and confirm “you were right.”
Doesn’t happen often….”Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18.
I had to learn the hard way…..other people do to.
Usually, a person, an event, etc….hits really hard and we get that “Oh Crap” moment. “I shudda listened.” ONLY after life has beaten the crap outta us because we didn’t listen. LOL

It is amazing how smart parents get, as teens go from age 14 to age 21, isn’t it???

And it is rather paradoxical, that the elders have no intelligence or wisdom after age 55 or 60. And who are the losers????? Actually, the youth AND the elders, for the Elders can pass wisdom, while gaining the enthusiasm of the Youth. But I don’t believe many understand that.

Good points, Upaces, and Thank You for a very wise comment.

Yes, it certainly is a sad truth that too many people will not listen until the world blows up around them. The maturing process in this country has been arrested, and people think and act like teenagers who don’t want to grow up.

    Another great quote, GrouchMeister!

Thank You, CW. Your comment reminds me of the old Peter, Paul and Mary tune, “Where Have All The Flowers Gone”.

Indeed, When will we ever learn????? God only knows.
