Planned Parenthood’s Racist Beginnings

planned parenthood

Since Planned Parenthood has been in the recent headlines, it seems appropriate to visit its roots. Those roots go back to one Margaret Sanger, who popularized the term birth control and opened the first birth control clinic in the US. She established the organization, American Birth Control League that evolved into the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, known today as simply Planned Parenthood.

She believed that through abortion, birth control, and forced sterilization society could “assist the human race in the elimination of the unfit.” Sanger was also a rabid racist and a huge proponent of the forced sterilization program of the Nazi regime in the 1930’s. Sanger was also a writer and she used this method to help promote her way of eugenicist thinking.

At a birth control rally in 1925, Sanger spoke of sterilizing those she designated as “unfit,” a plan she said would be the “salvation of American civilization. And she also spoke of those who were “irresponsible and reckless,” among whom she included those “whose religious scruples prevent their exercising control over their numbers.” She further contended that “there is no doubt in the minds of all thinking people that the procreation of this group should be stopped.” Sanger saw the numerous Americans of African origin as a threat to the perfection she sought for America’s population.

In a piece titled “Birth Control and Racial Betterment,” Sanger wrote in part:

Before eugenists and others who are laboring for racial betterment can succeed, they must first clear the way for Birth Control. Like the advocates of Birth Control, the eugenists, for instance, are seeking to assist the race toward the elimination of the unfit. Both are seeking a single end but they lay emphasis upon different methods.

In an essay Sanger, who was once a featured speaker of the Ku Klux Klan, wrote about blacks:

It is said that the aboriginal Australian, the lowest known species of the human family, just a step higher than the chimpanzee in brain development, has so little sexual control that police authority alone prevents him from obtaining sexual satisfaction on the streets. According to one writer, the rapist has just enough brain development to raise him above the animal, but like the animal, when in heat knows no law except nature which impels him to procreate whatever the result.

Margaret Sanger and KKK

Pro-abortion leftists, such as Hillary Clinton, are undoubtedly aware of Sanger’s past, but as the Federalist noted, in 2009, Clinton sang many praises about the racist, pro-Nazi eugenicist:

“I admire Margaret Sanger enormously,” Clinton told the event’s attendees. “Her courage, her tenacity, her vision.”

“When I think about what Sanger did all those years ago in Brooklyn,” Clinton gushed. “I am really in awe of her. And there are a lot of lessons we that can learn from her life and the cause she launched and fought for and sacrificed so greatly.”

So why is Sanger’s and Planned Parenthood’s racist history kept hidden by liberals and the mainstream media?  The answer is obvious.  Could it be that leftists don’t really care about the minorities for whom they purport to advocate, and that their real motives are far more sinister?

Editor’s Note “And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through ...

It’s all about power, control, and money.  Liberals’ aims are to keep minorities down by throwing them crumbs, so they will retain their power through a faithful voting block.  Never mind the man behind the curtain, crushing viable infants’ skulls, then dissecting their tiny organs to sell on a black market more horrific than in any science fiction movie.

This information has been out there and available for years. The lefties who perpetuate the lie that abortion is a health choice also know and have known the truth all along. Those who continue to vote for people like Hillary and O, are willing to believe the lies spoon fed to them so they don’t have to face the truth which is abortion always, always, kills another human being.

Chances are that most of those babies being ripped apart and sold by the piece are black and Hispanic, as 79% of PP abortion clinics are in minority neighborhoods and funded to the tune of millions by taxpayer dollars.

Here’s the question Michelle Malkin asked:

What kind of country do we live in where law-abiding businesses are fined, threatened and demonized for refusing to bake gay wedding cakes, but barbaric baby butchers are hailed by feminists, Hollywood and a president who asked God to “bless” them?

It’s called Obamanation, where some of the key players are fashioned in the likes of Kermit Gosnell, Margaret Sanger & Josef Mengele.

    Great post, Kathy.

Given its origins and the disproportional effect on minorities it does seem counter-intuitive that the Left should be such staunch advocates of abortion providers, but you must remember that while they are without principles they still have their priorities, and their number one priority is to let nothing interfere with their pleasure as this smacks of the kind of maturity they despise. It’s no accident that the rise of the Left corresponds to the sexual revolution, and people’s attitudes about sexual behavior. Sex is a lucrative industry for them, and desires of many to be insulated from the consequences of their sexual behavior helps to keep the Left in power.

Thanks, CW. One of the (many) things that the left does that drives me crazy is dare to call this women’s health, when in 99% of the cases it has nothing to do with their health, and everything to do with convenience and money.

Their go-to phrase is that a fetus isn’t a person until it’s born, so how is it that they’re able to harvest body parts (shudder) from a non-person and make money in the process? More of that hypocrite du jour they serve up on a daily basis.

The KKK photo has been reported to be doctored, but the rest of the info is spot on and should be more widely known. Thanks for the post!

    CW’s comment is terrific too!

    • Kathy says:

Thanks Jen, it wouldn’t surprise me to learn that the photo was altered, but the fact remains she spoke to them. The Democrats that comprised the KKK were all too eager to hear what she had to say.

Spot on. Suggest watching the following

Thanks for adding that, Uriel. I didn’t know there was an exhibit in her honor, but it just so figures, doesn’t it? Dang, they did a good job of whitewashing the whole issue and making her motives disappear. She was ahead of her time, but not in a good way. No wonder she and the KKK were such good buds.

It’s apparent that few blacks are aware of the truth behind her and Planned Parenthood. They’d be rioting in the streets again.

Excellent post Kathy. We’ll never hear a word from the left about this. Abortion is the left’s religion. I remain disgusted.
