Global Warming Insanity For Jun 11 2015

As the Obama Regime looks to finish the job of the destruction of every industry in the country, now it is the airlines turn. The rogue EPA, ahead of the Paris moonbat conference, has given another fatwa to a BIG part of our economy.

With ZERO correlation between CO2 levels, and global temperatures, (which have NOT risen in almost 19 YEARS ) these regulations are designed more to beat up an industry, and burnish Obama’s “street cred” with the global warming fraud crowd, and other assorted environmentalist wackos. Once again, Michael Bastasch at The Daily has the skinny.

Obama Moves To Regulate CO2 From Airplanes

Michael Bastasch  2:27 PM 06/ 10/ 2015

THIS is what the asshats of the left, and the Regime (sorry for the redundancy) want you to believe.

First tailpipes, then power plants and now airplanes. The Obama administration announced another major effort to regulate carbon dioxide emissions from airplanes after the Environmental Protection Agency linked airliners to global warming.

The EPA issued a proposal Wednesday declaring that CO2 from airliners threatens public health because it contributes to global warming. The agency says it’s doing this in conjunction with an international effort to bring the airline industry under global carbon dioxide standards for commercial jets.

Yet AGAIN, America. The NEXT republican president MUST chop this bunch off at the knees. Otherwise, there will be NOTHING left of our economy.

Republicans have already vowed to challenge the EPA’s proposal to regulate airline emissions, saying new federal regulations would increase travel costs and fuel prices.

“The sky is the limit when it comes to how much of the U.S. economy the EPA wants to control,” Texas Republican Rep. Lamar Smith said in a statement.

“The EPA today released a finding that emissions from commercial airplanes are harmful to human health, which opens the door for new regulations,” Smith added. “Such regulations would increase the price of airfare for Americans and harm our domestic carriers.”

Environmentalists, on the other hand, celebrated the news, arguing regulating airline emissions is necessary to fighting global warming.

“With today’s announcement, President Obama has a unique and extremely important opportunity to demonstrate leadership not only domestically but around the world,” William Becker, executive director of the National Association of Clean Air Agencies, told The New York Times.

The EPA says international rules over airline emissions are expected to be completed in 2016, adding that the U.S. proposal will set “the necessary foundation for the development and implementation of a domestic aircraft standard.”

This marks another major effort by the Obama administration to “green up” the U.S.’s image ahead of United Nations climate talks in Paris slated for later this year. The administration also recently announced carbon dioxide standards for heavy trucks and is set to finalize CO2 limits for power plants this summer.

The EPA says airliners “emit roughly 11 percent of [greenhouse gas] emissions from the U.S. transportation sector and 29 percent of [greenhouse gas] emissions from all aircraft globally.”

“Today’s action supports the goals of the President’s Climate Action Plan to reduce emissions from large sources of carbon pollution,” the agency said in a press release.

The airline industry says it’s already working on ways to lower its carbon footprint by increasing fuel efficiency and decreasing use. Some airline companies are looking into using biofuels to power their aircraft, but biofuels are expensive and less dense when it comes to energy output.

The New York Times notes the challenges airlines already face in trying to reduce emissions. The Times reports that the aviation sector “is among the fastest-growing sources of global greenhouse gas emissions as air travel becomes more affordable and more people travel around the world.”

“Over the last fifty years, the fuel efficiency of jetliners has increased by 70 percent. Incentives are already in place to make air travel more energy efficient,” Smith said. “This proposal is the next leg of a nonstop journey by the EPA to control how Americans live, work and travel.”

Well, WE certainly knew this was coming. NO global warming in damn near 19 years now, and NO proof that the airliners are causing it, yet this Regime, hell-bent on the “fundamental transformation” of America, kicks yet another vital industry in the cojones with insane, absolutely UNNECCESSARY regulations.

If these assholes want to CUT CO2 emissions, let us start with THEM. STOP Moochelle from taking TWO separate jets when she travels. Tell Obama to use ONE plane when he travels. Tell ALL the global warming hucksters to QUIT jetting all over the damned planet, destroying it in the name of “saving it”. The idiocy of the left is a constant source of amazement, and apparently, they cannot or refuse, to see THEIR blatant hypocrisy here.

While I agree with Rep. Lamar Smith, he did a disservice by not stating the OBVIOUS.  His quote was :

“This proposal is the next leg of a nonstop journey by the EPA to control how Americans live, work and travel.”

Close, Lamar, but NO cigar. Your quote, let me help you here, SHOULD have read like THIS : “ This proposal is yet another slap in the face to a vital American industry, putting it, and it’s hundreds of thousands of employees at risk of losing their jobs due to an overzealous, non-accountable agency carrying out an agenda that is harmful to America”.

Next time you address the media, use THAT one, Rep. Smith. Shit, you republicans are already accused by the lunatic left of wanting dirty air, and dirty water, you  might as well fight absurdity with more of the same.

CLYDE.  Watch for MORE onerous legislation, and regulation by the Regime leading up to Paris.

It is way past time that Congress perform “oversight”. Had they been doing it all along as the Constitution requires then none of these agencies would have such long arms. No agency or department has the authority to create law but they do it all the time and call it a regulation. Same shit, different day.

    • Clyde says:

These clowns have been rendered USELESS by NOT standing up to the Idi Amin wanna-be. Good comment, Boss, thanks.

  2. CW says:

It is long past time to fight fire with fire and to say to that segment of the American population that enables this:

“We have had enough. If the people you’ve placed in positions of regulatory power cannot be trusted to constrain their power to the reasonable, common sense limits intended when these agencies were established, then we have no choice but to defund them altogether for the protection of our constituents. If the EPA’s inability to strike a sensible balance between protection of the environment and protection of the rights of the American consumer means that we must choose between zero regulations and a massive maize of regulations that threaten our economy and our freedom, then zero regulations is what we will have. We were prepared to have regulations within reason. We will not tolerate the abuse of power that’s happened instead.”

Then they need to vote to defund the EPA. That is the only way to put a stop to what’s going on.

  3. Buck says:

CO2…. Uh…. Isn’t that the stuff plants need to survive???
Some time back weren’t the same people wringing their hands because the lumber companies were cutting timber in the Amazon thus denying the world’s terra flora the precious CO2 it needed?

    • Clyde says:

Damn sure is. Buck. But THEN, these ARE the “smartest people in the room”, so one MUST ask, are they TRYING to destroy the planet in the name of “saving” it ? If so, these asshats are dumber than we thought. THEY die TOO.

  4. Uriel says:

Oversight needs sharp teeth though Hardnox. These guys have had theirs filed down. Spot on comment Clyde. Obama and crew will do any and everything they can to make the US fall inside their open pit.

    • Clyde says:

Thanks, Uriel. The Congress has let ITSELF become irrelevant, all so they “look good” to the left wing media. After all, it IS important to be invited to ALL the “correct” parties in the District Of Corruption, after all. Upholding the Constitution ? Not so much.

  5. tannngl says:

Sheesh, where is our congress on these regs? Their committees are supposed to review these regs. Did you know there are HUNDREDS of federal agencies making regs (LAWS) for all of us to follow? Congress can’t keep up. They can’t even investigate the murders of 4 Americans in Benghazi…

There are no counters to the power in the presidency. Not sure why, probably multiple factors. Rogue administration. Rino Republicans. Fraud. Corruption. Criminals, most of them because they are acting against our Constitution, the Main LAW of our land.

Here’s a list of all the agencies that the administration heads. You really have to see it:
