Yes, my friends, it is Wednesday once more, and that means we honor our late colleague Mrs. A.L. with the awarding of an honor named for her and that just fits SO MANY leftists so well.
So let us venture into the wasteland that passes for liberal thinking, and see which FINE specimen of “leftist thought” is the coniferous champion this week. Our awardee was referred to us by Hardnox himself, a hat-tip to him. Without further ado, here is this week’s….
MRS.A.L.’S HUMPDAY PINECONE
This week’s winner is the leftist lunatic’s version of what a “conservative” should be, this one is the token conservative on the staff of the New York Slimes, our Pinecone is none other than David Brooks. Ol’ David, he of the comment “ “I remember distinctly an image of–we were sitting on his couches, and I was looking at his pant leg and his perfectly creased pant,” Brooks says, “and I’m thinking, a) he’s going to be president and b) he’ll be a very good president.” has opened up his pie hole AGAIN proving the notion ” keep your mouth shut and be thought the fool than to speak and remove all doubt” about how King Putt ( set down ANY beverage you may be consuming ) has run an “Amazingly scandal-free administration” . All I have to say is BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Here is a transcript from the idiotic piece from Newsbusters.org :
DAVID BROOKS: First, if the allegations about the contact with the boys are true, well, we have seen that with the Catholic Church. We have seen a disturbing undercurrent in American life, I guess, and maybe in world life, of this sort of thing. I am struck, as Mark just mentioned, the whole litany of people, especially of that era, who were involved in some scandal or another. Some of it was sexual. Some of it was more financial, even Tom DeLay’s, Speaker Wright. And it was just all concentrated in a lot of people all at once. Does politics attract such people? I don’t know. Is it prevalent in society? It’s certainly a reminder of original sin. The other thing, though, I did want to say that there are people in American life to whom this has not happened. And I have my disagreements, say, with President Obama, but President Obama has run an amazingly scandal-free administration, not only he himself, but the people around him. He’s chosen people who have been pretty scandal-free. And so there are people in Washington who do set a standard of integrity, who do seem to attract people of quality. And I think that’s probably true of the current group. I hope it’s true of the current leadership group in Congress. But — so they’re not all involved in scandal. MARK SHIELDS: David makes a good point. And I agree with him on this administration in particular. –
When these “lefty righties” make a fool of themselves, they hold back NOTHING. I guess David must have forgotten about, oh, Benghazi, Fast and Furious, Obamacare, etc etc ad nauseum. So, David, with that in mind, we here at H&F are right PROUD to “cone” you this week :
And with that, we leave you with our winner. Be sure to tune in next Wednesday, when we find out who gets the coveted coning.
CLYDE. Say, Mrs. A.L., how’s about a lightning bolt to the butt for our esteemed winner ?
