Quote Of The Day — May 7, 2015

It is change, continuing change, inevitable change that is the dominant factor in society today. No sensible decision can be made any longer without taking into account not only the world as it is, but the world as it will be…
This, in turn, means that our statesmen, our businessmen, our everyman must take on a science fictional way of thinking.”

Isaac Asimov, (January 2, 1920 – April 6, 1992),  Asimov on Science Fiction

The ship of common sense has sailed long ago and it is torpedoed regularly.

We’re all living in the Twilight Zone.

    • Grouchy says:

It is well established that the current mode of action and thought are not achieving the desired results. But it does seem that no one has the courage and foresight to try a new mode of thinking.
Twilight Zone, indeed~! And the muck just keeps on getting deeper and deeper~!

  2. CW says:

    I can’t possibly top Hardnox’s comment.

  3. Garnet92 says:

Isaac Asimov was one smart dude – there must be countless quotes by him that are fitting today and will still be prescient even tomorrow.

    • Grouchy says:

Greetings, Garnet,,, And how so very right you are. And this also applies to many of the major ( and minor~! ) Science Fiction writers. For example, how much of Jules Verne’s writings have come to pass into actuality???
We would do well to “listen” to what they’ve had to say, both scientifically and sociologically~!
