Allen West on the Jihadist Attacks in Tunisia

From Allen West:

World on fire: What happens if we don’t stand against Islamic jihadists?

And so it goes on and on and on…another Islamic terror attack against westerners.

As reported by Yahoo News, “Foreign tourists scrambled in panic Wednesday after militants stormed a museum in Tunisia’s capital and killed 19 people, “shooting at anything that moved,” a witness said. Two gunmen were slain by security forces following the deadliest attack on civilians in the North African country in 13 years, and the president said the young democracy was embroiled in a war with terror.”

tunisia-attack-1“The militants, who wore military-style uniforms and wielded assault rifles, burst from a vehicle and began gunning down tourists climbing out of buses at the National Bardo Museum. The attackers then charged inside to take hostages before being killed in a firefight with security forces. Prime Minister Habib Essid said the two Tunisian gunmen killed 17 tourists — five from Japan, four from Italy, two from Columbia, two from Spain, and one each from Australia, Poland and France. The nationality of one dead foreigner was not released. Essid said two Tunisian nationals also were killed by the militants.”

“At least 44 people were wounded, including tourists from Italy, France, Japan, South Africa, Poland, Belgium and Russia, according to Essid and doctors from Tunis’ Charles Nicolle.”

“I want the people of Tunisia to understand firstly and lastly that we are in a war with terror, and these savage minority groups will not frighten us,” said newly elected President Beji Caid Essebsi in an evening address to the nation. “The fight against them will continue until they are exterminated.”

The numbers have been updated to reflect a death toll of some 22 and 50 wounded.

You know, we may have another potential ally in the global fight against Islamic terrorism. In case you haven’t paid attention, Islamism is on the march across North Africa from Libya (which President Obama destabilized and handed over to Islamists — but blame Bush) to Tunisia.

There’s still an al-Qaida branch – al-Qaida in the Maghreb — that operates in the same space along with Ansar al-Sharia. Then in sub-Saharan Africa we have Boko Haram which has sworn allegiance to ISIS. And in eastern Africa, there’s Al Shabab operating out of Somalia.

And you don’t have to attend White House intelligence briefings to know this (although it would help if President Obama did, at least more than 47 percent).

Here is my assessment. This global Islamic jihad will thrive for the next two years — after all Obama may now be focused on mandatory voting and Hillary Clinton feels entitled to be the first woman president.

Yes, identity politics marches on while the world is on fire — yikes, better not say that and scare little children as the liberal progressive media accused Sen. Ted Cruz of doing (falsely, of course).

The Islamic jihadists are emboldened. As a matter of fact, it was just yesterday we reported that Iran and Hezbollah have been removed from the terror list.

This becomes very Pavlovian if the consequence for barbaric and savage behavior is removal from the terror-tracking list.

However, this is a moment where an opportunity exists. As Yahoo News reports, “On Wednesday night, parliament held an extraordinary session where Tunisian Speaker Mohammed Ennaceur called for the creation of a special fund to combat terrorism. He also called for the rapid passage of the anti-terror law that parliament had been debating when the attack took place. Hours after the police ended the siege, thousands of Tunisians flocked to downtown’s landmark Bourguiba Avenue, where the revolution took place, for a nighttime rally. They chanted for a “Free Tunisia” in defiance of terrorism.”

All that is missing is a leader – like the one who was reelected in Israel this week.

We can ill afford to sit back and allow the jihadists to continue their march across North Africa.

“Tunisia has been more stable than other countries in the region, but has struggled with violence by Islamic extremists who have sworn allegiance to both al-Qaida and the Islamic State group. A disproportionately large number of Tunisian recruits — some 3,000, according to government estimates — have joined Islamic State fighters in Syria and Iraq and many have received training in neighboring Libya.”

“North Africa analyst Geoff Porter said an attack on a tourism site has long been expected as the militants come under pressure from increasingly effective Tunisian security forces. “Today’s attack did not come out of nowhere. In fact, it comes amid ongoing counterterrorism efforts elsewhere in the country,” he said about the attack. “Increasing pressure on terrorist activities … may have squeezed the balloon, with terrorists seeking softer targets with more symbolic impact in the capital.”

If we continue along this path — and don’t forget about the knife attack of our U.S. ambassador in South Korea, and now threats against the ambassador in Japan — we are placing ourselves in greater danger.

Doggone, even Pope Francis is calling for an armed response to the Islamic savagery. What is our response? By month’s end we’ll sign an agreement with the worlds biggest sponsor of Islamic terrorism — now that’s how we show ‘em who’s in charge!

Allen West and Benjamin Netanyahu are among the few leaders who get it. O gets it, but being muslim at heart, he simply doesn’t care. That’s why our military is taking out empty warehouses and other such menacing targets.

Where will the next attack take place? There’s a lot of speculation that it will have to be on the US before O is forced to take action. God forbid they’re right.

If he does take action it won’t be for the right reasons. God help us all.

Putt has laid out the welcome mat for the sandnazis. Anyone paying attention knows it.

    I second Hardnox’s comment.

What I want to know is, why would anybody, with an I.Q. higher than a turnip, want to go tour the mid-east countries at this particular time in history. They must have gotten a helluva discount. Maybe a free casket for the return trip?

I wondered the same thing, IR, who would go to any hellhole over there right now? It’s either a death wish, or a brain the size of a radish. Maybe both.
