Has Hillary Emailed Herself Into a Corner?

Hillary Clinton Ran Homebrew Computer System For Official Emails

From: huffingtonpost.com, By: Jack Gillum and Ted Bridis, On: March 4, 2015, see the article HERE. [emphasis is mine]

 what difference does it make

A House of Representatives committee issued subpoenas Wednesday for the emails of Hillary Rodham Clinton, who used a private account exclusively for official business when she was secretary of stateand also used a computer email server now traced back to her family’s New York state home.

The subpoenas indicate Republicans want questions about Hillary Rodham Clinton’s use of a private email account to follow her into a widely anticipated second presidential campaign. Republicans, who control the investigative powers of Congress, say the revelations reaffirm their long-held portrayal of Bill and Hillary Clinton as secretive and playing by their own rules. Democrats dismiss the accusations as trivial, but they were fast becoming a distraction for Clinton.

“The American people deserve all of the facts,” Republican House Speaker John Boehner said Wednesday.

Congressman Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, intends to investigate whether Clinton, by using a personal email account, may have violated federal requirements that written communications of officials are preserved.

Democrats question whether the emails will resonate with voters in an election 20 months away. But as the presidential nominating season begins, Clinton’s use of a personal email account for State Department business has stoked questions about transparency that threaten to cloud her early steps as the Democratic Party’s overwhelming favorite White House prospect.

The subpoenas from the Republican-led Select Committee on the deadly 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya, demanded additional material from Clinton and others, spokesman Jamal D. Ware said. The panel also instructed technology companies it did not identify to preserve any relevant documents in their possession.

The questions follow recent reports about the Clinton family foundation’s raising of money from foreign governments, while she was the country’s top diplomat, to benefit the nonprofit’s philanthropic mission.

The development at Congress came the same day AP reported the existence of a personal email server traced back to the Chappaqua, New York, home of Clinton. The unusual practice of a Cabinet-level official running her own email server would have given Clinton significant control over limiting access to her message archives.

The practice also would complicate the State Department’s legal responsibilities in finding and turning over official emails in response to any investigations, lawsuits or public records requests. The department would be in the position of accepting Clinton’s assurances she was surrendering everything required that was in her control.

Congress said it learned last summer about Clinton’s use of a private email account to conduct official State Department business during its investigation of the Benghazi attacks on a U.S. mission in which four Americans died, including the ambassador to Libya.

Democrats called it a fishing expedition. They say the latest probes are throwbacks to the 1990s when they say Republicans overplayed their hands pursuing President Bill Clinton.

The questions about Clinton’s email practices left the Obama administration in an awkward position. At one point, the State Department directed reporters to contact Clinton, who has not publicly commented about her emails. The White House said it was her responsibility to make sure any emails about official business weren’t deleted from her private server.

Meanwhile, the AP said it was considering legal action against the State Department for failing to turn over some emails covering Clinton’s tenure as the top U.S. diplomat after waiting more than one year. The department has never suggested that it doesn’t possess all Clinton’s emails.

Clinton — who emailed so frequently using her BlackBerry as secretary of state that it became an Internet meme — is particularly sensitive about disclosures of personal files based on her experiences in confronting congressional investigations and civil lawsuits during her husband’s election and presidency and her own roles as first lady, senator, presidential candidate and Cabinet official.

State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf said Clinton as Cabinet secretary never used a government email account on the agency’s separate network for sharing classified information, which Clinton would have been prohibited from forwarding to her private email account.

Clinton has not described her reasons for using a private email account — hdr22@clintonemail.com, which appears to include a nod to her middle name, Diane. A spokesman for her did not respond to requests seeking comment from the AP on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Operating her own server would have afforded Clinton additional legal opportunities to block government or private subpoenas in criminal, administrative or civil cases because her lawyers could object in court before being forced to turn over any emails.

One of the most deceitful, duplicitous, pitiful waste of female-hood has finally been caught by her own evil intellect.

She installed her own email server (at her home) and used it exclusively to host her personal email account. Why? So that all of her email correspondence would be entirely under HER control. Can you imagine the chutzpah of our Secretary of State, one of the highest offices in the land, making preparations to insulate herself from unlawful and illegal actions that she knew she would take during her tenure?

Who would think of such a thing? Only the most devious, dishonest, double-dealing criminal mind would prepare for a day – a day she knew would come – when one or more investigative bodies would be searching her correspondence in preparation for criminal action against her. There can be no innocent reason to do such a thing and only an individual comfortable planning dubious and dishonorable schemes would even think to prepare defenses against prosecution.

I may be wrong, but this new email-gate evidence coupled with a second emerging story about the Clinton Foundation accepting foreign contributions while she was SOS, may, finally, be the splintered, oaken cross driven into her chest (she has no heart). I, for one, will be happy to watch her being fitted for her orange jumpsuit accessorized with chrome cuffs and ankle shackles.

And finally, astute observers may have noticed that this article came from Huffington Post – a liberal, left-leaning media entity. So, we all know that it is slanted to portray Hillary in the best possible light – that means trouble for the former First Skank.

I think the liberal PTB are busy polishing the halo to be installed on top of Fauxahauntas as soon as they see it is more feasable to get rid of her highness Hillary.

Judging from all of the Clinton sycophants out and about trying to refute any nefarious purposes associated with Hillary’s personal email network, they are worried. They’re flooding the airways with stooges trying their best to deflect and defend. They are blaming that Hillary-defined “right wing conspiracy” for manufacturing a scandal where “none exists.” They’ve got their work cut out for them.

  2. CW says:

I can’t wait to hear how the Clinton schemers are going to spin this. You know right now they’re all huddled around a table somewhere, chugging down Starbucks and throwing out ideas for plausible explanations and strategies to paint this as some kind of rightwing conspiracy. Hahahaha. I’d give anything to have the tape of those conversations to expose these lying bastards for who they really are.

The efforts made by Clinton to avoid public accountability tells all about who she is. She had to know that she risked a lot of trouble by using her private email account for gov’t business, but she took that risk because she calculated that it was a BIGGER risk to expose her conduct as Secretary of State to public scrutiny or, worse yet, to attempt to do the job in the honest and open way that it was intended. The Left’s agenda depends on secrecy and deception, it’s that simple. Luckily for Hillary her brainless followers aren’t wise enough to be concerned about supporting an agenda and a regime that has to keep its actions secret from them.

Good observation CW – that Hillary weighed the consequences of staying within “normal” governmental email procedures against what would happen if she is caught using her own protected personal server and decided that her greatest protection was using her own network. Greatest protection against what? Against being prosecuted for operating in Clinton Mode (criminal). She is being proven right – so far …

Unless a court order can quickly gain access to her personal server (before it can be cleansed), we’ll play hell ever knowing exactly what she did. It’s up to Trey Gowdy to push that issue – and quickly, else an unfortunate “accident” will befall her beloved server and it will be destroyed (sorry, somehow it just exploded into a million pieces).

  3. Kathy says:

Judge Nap says it’s a misdemeanor, but if she intentionally scrubs them, that’s a felony.

Already her reaction is to act like she has nothing to hide. She said she wants the public to see her emails and has asked State to release them. They will review them for release ‘as soon as possible’ and we all know how long that takes. It’ll be the twelfth of never before we see them.

Problem is…she didn’t specify which email accounts… Lois Lerner Part II ?

    • Garnet92 says:

Kathy, we all know that Hillary wouldn’t sully her hands with a misdemeanor, she’s a felony kind of gal.

Her ploy is to exhort the State Department to release “all of her emails,” but they don’t have all of her emails – they only have the ones that she intentionally SENT to the State Department system. They can’t release the ones that only reside on her personal computer – only she can do that – and she’ll win the Miss America beauty contest before that happens.

Like Obama, she is depending on the room temperature IQ of the collective public to insulate her from consequences. Her followers will express outrage that she is being “put upon” by those pesky Republicans who are determined to find scandal where (they believe) none exists.

I believe that she’s on shaky ground right now and she knows it.

This is amazing. She breaks the law congress put in place to stop this kind of thing and she ignores the fact that she did it. Her tweet overnight was: https://twitter.com/HillaryClinton/status/573340998287413248
I want the public to see my email. I asked State to release them. They said they will review them for release as soon as possible.

Many very good replies to her. One of the best:
.@HillaryClinton You bought the server. Release them yourself.

    Perhaps this one will stick?
Hope and pray Goudy gets what he needs with this. But I have my doubts.

    • Garnet92 says:

Thanks for that link tannngl, of the dozen or so I saw, there was only one that didn’t care about her own personal email account – most recognized that there is only one reason for doing what she did – and that is to prevent access by lawful authority.

  5. Hardnox says:

Rep. Trey Gowdy just subpoenaed her emails. We’ll soon find out if they got disappeared.

The bottom line for anyone is that she purposely chose to conceal her activities. If they were legal there would be no reason to conceal them in the first place.

    • I.R. Wayright says:

Those emails are going the same route the Rose Law firm billing records went.
And, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, it would please me if they accidently stumbled on email records about the true cause fo the crash of TWA Flight 800.

  6. Garnet92 says:

Hillary’s email problems were discovered by Gowdy’s group. I think that he will anticipate her response and won’t be satisfied with whatever she produces. I’m ready for the FBI (or some body with the legal right to do so) to raid her house and seize the server(s) – that’s what they did to General Petraeus.

I think that she overestimated her genius and crapped in her bed this time. When the AP and the NYT both are writing negative stories about her, she’s in trouble.

  7. Bullright says:

Poor Hillary snagged by her own shenanigans. It takes a village to hide her emails. What she doesn’t trust big-government??? But there isn’t a corner big enough for her. It must have been one of those “Hard Choices” she had to make.
