A Sunday Feel Good Story – Camp Hometown Heroes

From TPNN:

Ever since the premiere of American Sniper, Leftists have lined up to slam our military in general and American snipers, especially Chris Kyle. While many, from Rob Lowe to Gary Sinise, have come to the defense of our men and women in uniform, one unexpected person has taken a stand for our soldiers in his own unique way.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers recently surprised 4 children who have lost a parent while that parent served in the military. Alexis, Starr and Kylee, who are all sisters, and Dylan got a special surprise from Rodgers who visited them to highlight the work done by Camp Hometown Heroes, which is located in Wisconsin.

The camp’s mission is “to offer national free week-long overnight summer camp for children and siblings between the ages of seven to seventeen of fallen U.S. service members who died in any manner: combat, accident, illness or suicide.”

The children are not only able to meet with grief specialists and therapy programs, but also participate in other typical camp experiences.

The just under 7 minute video is very touching and highlights an organization which strives to make a positive difference in the lives of kids who are hurting through the loss of their mother, father, brother, or sister.

Never have been a Packers fan, but with all the negativity in the world and so much attention on troubled NFL players, it’s nice to see one of them doing something positive. You’ll never see the likes of Michael Moore or Jessie Ventura helping our military or their kids.

Good find, Kathy. Rodgers is a class act. Too bad the REST of the NFL felons aren’t.
