NOXIOUS RANT ALERT : Global Warming Insanity For Feb 21 2015

Over the past month, I have posted many stories about the leftist lunatics blaming EVERYTHING we use for contributing to global warming.

Now, according to the dubiously titled Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (gee, I wonder WHO got THIS started ? HINT : think a ” WIDE LOAD” sign”) our very diets could cause the planet to be rendered “unsustainable”. Here is the latest leftist stupidity, from Joel Himelfarb at Newsmax.com

US Panel: Americans’ Eating Habits Could Be Harming The Planet

By Joel Himelfarb

I suppose THIS is what the Dietary Guideline Advisory Committee will “suggest” next. I’m SICK of leftists. Time for THEM to be defeated as well as ISIS.

The top nutritional panel in the United States is recommending for the first time that Americans take into account the potentially harmful impact that their food choices are having on the environment.

The move by the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee, which defied a warning from Congress, “could discourage people from eating red meat” if enacted, according to The Washington Post.

The recommendation drew fire from industry representatives who charged that members of the panel were going out beyond their areas of expertise — nutrition and health — and into subjects they knew relatively little about.

In December, lawmakers on Capitol Hill said the panel should stick to nutritional advice instead of weighing in on extraneous issues. But it is apparent from the 571-page report issued this week that it disregarded this message.

The report says that “consistent evidence” indicates that “in general, a dietary pattern that is higher in plant-based foods, such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds, and lower in animal-based foods is more health promoting and is associated with lesser environmental impact than is the current average U.S. diet.”

The panel’s “foray into the murky waters of [environmental] sustainability is well beyond its scope and expertise. It’s akin to having a dermatologist provide recommendations about cardiac care,” said Barry Carpenter, chief executive of the North American Meat Institute.

Carpenter said the recommendations seem “to be based on personal opinions or social agendas.”

The environmental recommendations will be part of a report that is supposed to provide a scientific basis for the next edition of the federal publication advising Americans on what to eat.

That publication, known as the Dietary Guidelines, will be issued later this year by the Departments of Agriculture and Health and Human Services.

In December, Congress, responding to reports that the guidelines might include environmental recommendations, expressed concern that the panel was “considering issues outside of the nutritional focus of the panel” and said the final dietary guidelines should be limited to “nutrition and dietary information.”

The panel’s report drew a warning from Rep. Robert B. Aderholt, chairman of the Appropriations subcommittee that oversees the Agriculture Department budget.

According to Aderholt, the group would have been well-advised to stick to its mission: providing advice on how Americans can have a more healthy diet.

Aderholt, an Alabama Republican, “is skeptical of the panel’s departure from utilizing sound science as the criteria for the guidelines” and believes that “politically motivated issues” like taxes on certain foods and environmental sustainability “are outside their purview,” a spokesman said.

He added that lawmakers would “keep this in mind” as they consider funding government agencies this spring.

Miriam Nelson, a Tufts University professor and a member of the advisory panel, defended the recommendations, saying that the United States needs to join other countries and “start thinking about what’s sustainable.”

Food industry representatives also objected to the panel’s recommendation that federal, state, and local officials consider increased taxation on foods containing sodium and high amounts of sugar, Politico reported.

The federal panel said this “may encourage consumers to reduce consumption” while “revenues generated could support health promotion efforts.”

Its efforts “went far beyond its charge and authority, advancing a predetermined agenda rather than one based on the preponderance of scientific evidence,” said Chris Gindlesperger, a spokesman for the American Beverage Association.

“Instead of following its charge of developing nutrition recommendations based on clear scientific evidence, the [panel] spent significant time posturing its personal perspectives and advocating for public policies such as taxes and restrictions on foods and beverages.”

This bullshit is getting TIRESOME. Leftist nanny-staters, thinking only THEY can tell US what to do with our lives, our eating habits, what we drive, the way we heat and cool our homes, the everyday labor-saving devices we use, all in the name of “saving the planet”. And, the ONLY “plan” they have is INCREASED TAXES and REGULATIONS. Has THAT ever fixed ANYTHING ?

The planet is just FINE. Well, except for the leftist inhabitants of it. THEY are the problem. When THESE self-serving sonsofbitches give up all THEIR creature comforts, THEIR extravagent lifestyles, then come talk to me.

Until then, just SHUT. THE. F— UP, and mind YOUR OWN business. WE can take care of ourselves just FINE. Our ways and methods of farming have been SUSTAINABLE for at LEAST 100 YEARS now, you asshats. What, do you morons think that FARMLAND, and those who KNOW how to USE IT are somehow NOT growing ENOUGH food here to feed US, and half of the REST of the damned planet ?

You stupid assed liberals can’t even come in out of the rain, nor find your asses with both hands in a house of mirrors. I am SICK of you leftist pukes running around, claiming to be “for” healthy people, when all it looks like to me is you morons are just looking for new ways to CONTROL as many people as YOU can.

Tell you what, leftists. You leave US alone, and we won’t tell the TRUTH about what it is YOU want to do to “help the people”. Looks like neither of us will give in first,eh ?

CLYDE. Liberals. A WORSE scourge than ISIS.

  1. Uriel says:

Couldn’t agree more!! Excellent catch! Wonder how much the country had to pay to be told how, what, when to eat?

    • tiretramp says:

      DEAR U

The Kings wife is costing us plenty. I just not have seen her degree in Nutrition. Has any one?
      SkipC

      • James White says:

Any adult with Diabetics, hypertension, or addiction in their family can see the problems the American diet has caused. Mrs Obama is an intelligent Lady and has advisors as well. So to dismiss her advice is not a virtuous position at all.

        • Clyde says:

James White, would you have said the same thing if Laura Bush, or Nancy Reagan had made the same statements ? The issue here is Mrs. Obama has been photographed MANY MANY times eating what SHE is telling US not to eat. A tad hypocritical, don’t you think ? While diet indeed plays a significant role in the aforementioned medical issues, WHEN is it the GOVERNMENT’S job to harangue us about it ? You made no mention of heredity, which plays just as an important role. Thank you for keeping your disagreement civil.

        • Grouchy says:

          Mr White,
Genetics is one of the PRIMARY causes of the problems you have listed.
And It is definitely one thing to be “intelligent”, and another to get the point across in such a manner as to make it worthy of note. In the case of MANY folks who believe in the rite of self-determination, mrs. obama is neither intelligent nor convincing.
Example of genetic pre-disposition: Smoking, and alcohol abuse. BOTH are exacerbated by genetic heritage. If one doesn’t start, they’re probably in very good shape. BUT~! if a person who has the genetic disposition in their system, and they start drinking or smoking, it becomes a downhill, slippery slope.
And mrs obama’s advisors are no more worthy of attention than she is, herself.

        • Kathy says:

James, gotta disagree with your statement about FLOTUS’ intelligence. She made the statement that she had a college degree, yet still didn’t know how to nutritiously feed her kids, but her huge shining example of her lack of intelligence is apparent in he choice of spouses.

Nobody with an IQ over 30…ok, I’ll give her 40, would have chosen him for a husband. So, will I dismiss her advice? You betcha!

        • Terry says:

          James White :
“…Any adult with Diabetics, hypertension, or addiction in their family can see the problems the American diet has caused…”

…and THEY can do what THEY need to do about it. I’m healthy and I’ll eat whatever the hell I want.
Moochie and her fat ass, and the other lefties, don’t give a flyin’ frig about you, me, or what is healthy. They just want to control it or/and tax it. No matter WHAT it is.

  2. Hardnox says:

The enviro-weenies have really gone off the bend with this one. Ya gotta be kidding… right?

The left really loves telling everyone what to do, how and where to live, and now what to eat. They can go die from eating tofu. I’m sick of them.

The notion that we mere humans can affect the climate is pure hogwash. We can’t legislate it nor can we change what the planet has been doing for billions of years. The climate is changing and it will continue to change.

What we can do is keep the environment clean. That’s it. our responsibility is to be good stewards of our land, air, and water but we sure as hell can’t affect the climate or weather. Any notion of that is pure arrogance.

This whole Global Warming/Climate Change/ or whatever they call it today meme is nothing more than a fabricated fantasy created to bilk the industrialised nations and its people of their hard earned dollars for the enrichment of those that will benefit from the carbon credit scheme.

The left trots out the “97% of all climate scientists agree on man-made global warming” narrative when in fact the position papers were cherry picked by Al Gore and his minions. The net result was that less than 4% of all climate scientists believe that man can have some effect on the climate. Out of the 4%… 97% agree that it is caused by man.

This is where the 97% comes from. In truth, it is little more than 3% but that doesn’t support the carbon credit scheme. Why would anyone turn their economies upside down based on what 3% of climate scientists think? 97% sounds better especially when trillions can be made from it out of thin air.

Climate Change/Global Warming is he greatest fraud ever levied against the supposedly educated and informed citizens of the world.

  3. tiretramp says:

Proven fact: Vegan’s sorry ass’s destroy planet faster than meat eaters. They eat up the animals foods supply.
    Skip

  4. vonMesser says:

Might I suggest that the majority of these advisory panels be disestablished…

  5. Kathy says:

They control our guns, our lands, our air space, our laws and most of our money, so why not our diet too? It’s another commie control tactic designed to make us the bad guys if we don’t comply. Go along with it or be labeled a planet hater. Well, I’m already a racist radical right wing gun-totin’ Bible thumper, so go for it, asshats.

  6. Clyde says:

ALL : Some excellent comments, and I thank you for them. This post took 5 “takes” before the “censors” would allow it.

  7. tannngl says:

This is amazing! I think it’s the same government committee…
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2015/02/10/feds-poised-to-withdraw-longstanding-warnings-about-dietary-cholesterol/

THey are back tracking on their guidance to NOT eat cholesterol! It’s coming out later this year.
But they will tell us that eating this stuff will harm the plante…

That’s ok. I eat what I want. Gotta a whole steer in my freezer, eat bacon and eggs every day at noon, cream, butter, sour cream, cream cheese, and all other cheeses, chicken, pork, fish, lobster, shrimp. The good Lord told Noah he was to eat the animals and from then on the animals would be afraid of men…
Who am I to argue with the Lord God Almighty????
    😀

    • Uriel says:

He also said that we were not to worry so much about what goes. in. As that which flows out our mouths. Which apparently some have forgotten tanning

      • tannngl says:

Absolutely, Uriel. The evil in our hearts, our minds, our very beings will out us in what we say. It’s very true.
And it isn’t the food that defiles us as the disobedience.

Thanks for that, Uriel. Wonderful points. The evil is in all of our hearts. It is only God who can forgive and change us. God bless you!

    • Clyde says:

I’m with you, tannngl. Just in moderation.

      • tannngl says:

I’m probably not as moderate in my consumption. We eat ketogenic which is 80% fat, 15% protein and less than 5% carbohydrate. But we love our food. And we eat so much less than we did. Lost 70 pounds between the 2 of us!

  8. Blessed B. says:

Sounds like they are pushing for more people to accept the GMO’ed variety of foods. They haven’t yet figured out how to poison so many with the meat industry just yet…though they have been trying their darndest with it by having everything vaccinated and given growth hormones!

If everyone did the Vegan lifestyle though they’d be able to sell more Pharmaceuticals! Ever hear of the Vegan syndrome? It’s like Parkinson’s Disease…..uncontrollable shaking. No way to cure it. It’s caused by not having one important Amino Acid that you can only find by consuming meat…..

If “Wide Load” is telling me I should only eat such and such…. I’ll eat contrary to her guidelines!
