“We don’t have a trillion-dollar debt because we haven’t taxed enough; we have a trillion-dollar debt because we spend too much.”
Ronald Reagan, (February 6, 1911 – June 5, 2004)

A trillion seems like a bargain now compared to the 18+ we now have on the books. 8+ of that due to the asshat-in-chief currently residing in the White Mosque.
Greetings, Hardnox. Yes, indeed it was a bargain, even at that time.
And the two-faced abomination has had this to say, from Washington Post:
“I think if you look at the history, getting votes for the debt ceiling is always difficult, and budgets in this town are always difficult.”
— President Obama, news conference, Jan. 14, 2013
“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. government can’t pay its own bills. … I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase America’s debt limit.”
— Then-Sen. Barack Obama, floor speech in the Senate, March 16, 2006
Needless to say, condemned by the words from his own mouth.
he reminds me of those actors in a play, with masks fore and aft~!
It is simplicity, and TRUTH that R.R. told that made the left fear him, and HATE him. Good find, GF.
A brilliant man, but simple and humble. And in his own way, feisty as all get-out.
Thank God we have him, to compare others with.
