Quote Of The Day — February 13, 2015

Don’t ask for guarantees. And don’t look to be saved in any one thing, person, machine, or library. Do your own bit of saving, and if you drown, at least die knowing you were heading for shore.”

Ray Bradbury, (22 August 1920 – 5 June 2012)  Fahrenheit 451

Maybe I’d have to read the book to understand the library reference but certainly it’s good advice for people to step up to the plate and rescue themselves or at least try.

    • Grouchy says:

      G’Morning, CW.
And yes, we have to rescue ourselves. Rescue and Salvation are not external to the individual, but are accepted by our innermost Being. Hence, the “Library” reference, as well as the others: the person or the machine.

That anything like “God helps those who helps themselves”, GF ? Good quote, nonetheless.

    • Grouchy says:

HEY, Clyde — Good to see you.
I’d say more like, “God helps those who THINK for themselves.”
But then, maybe both ideas fit equally well
