    At one time, Leaders knew how to PERCEIVE and to THINK and REASON.
    But that was far ago, and long away.

      What amazes me, is the time frame of these observations, in relation to the “founding” of the socialist / communist philosophies.

    First, how fascinating and easily overlooked is PIUS IX’s characterization of Socialism and Communism as “wicked?” Not just misguided. Not just unworkable. But “WICKED.” Evil – malevolent – sinful – immoral.

    The ability to recognize socialism and communism for what they really are – theft and slavery – is one of the markers of a true leader. Leaders need other qualities too, but if you don’t at least have that fundamental understanding, you are not a true leader regardless of what other qualities you may possess. The entire history of the human experience is one of the struggle between those who would enslave and those who just want to be free. If you can’t see that or if – like Obama – you’re on the wrong side of that struggle, good people should reject you.

    There seems to be a lot of evidence that the newest Pope is indeed a socialist, which some of his supporters would deny; but what they can’t deny is that he doesn’t stand for the people’s basic right to freedom by denouncing socialism and communism as “wicked,” like his wise predecessor did. He should be soundly rejected by anyone who values the basic human right to freedom.

      Reminds me of this clause in the Declaration of Independence:

      “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it,,, ”

      There should be no misunderstanding of such a clearly stated principle, eh????
