Time For Something NEW

After much back and forth, up and down, tossing and turning about what we could do to stir things up, we here at H&F are PLEASED to announce a NEW feature.

On Sundays, I am going to be picking an individual out of the past week’s offerings of liberal stupidity, who through his or her words or actions, or a combination of both, personifies what this title REALLY is all about.

So, without further ado, we are proud to announce our inaugural….

Our first-ever weasel has a real penchant for caving, cowering, and general spinelessness. He also made ANOTHER first in the annals of our humble enterprise 3 short weeks ago.

This week, I have made the choice an easy one, and because this Weasel has spoken out of BOTH sides of his pie chute in the space of a few days.

Earlier in the week, after the State Of The Union Show, our Weasel took a HUGE, unprecedented step in inviting  Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel to speak before the House. The White Mosque, in a fit of pique worthy of the five-year-olds they are, had a cow. To see our Weasel slap the president this way made us think he had finally turned the corner.

But, alas, late in the week, our Weasel went back to his usual, spineless, cowardly self with THIS weasel shit, brought to us from The Hill.com via Breitbart.com:

John Boehner Attacks Tea Party: Leaders Oppose Me to Get Rich

From The Hill:

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is blaming conservative groups in Washington for turning him into a human pinata to raise money.

In an interview to air on Sunday’s “60 Minutes” on CBS, Boehner said he doesn’t disagree that much with conservatives on policy, but that the groups beat “the dickens out of me” in order to line their own pockets.

“The issue with the Tea Party isn’t one of strategy. It’s not one of different vision,” Boehner said, according to excerpts released by CBS.

“It’s a disagreement over tactics, from time to time. Frankly, a lot is being driven by national groups here in Washington who have raised money and just beating the dickens out of me,” Boehner said in the joint interview with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

“It works. They raise money, put it in their pocket, and pay themselves big salaries,” Boehner added.

HOW do these Weasels do it ?  One day, they’re sounding like they SHOULD sound, the next, totally wimped out. I don’t get it. Getting RICH over TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT HIM ??? WTF, over ???

BUT, Speaker Boehner does “get it”. He gets THIS for his contributions to our humble little blog:

John Boehner, House Speaker, and our VERY FIRST Weasel Of The Week, doing what he does best.

All our Weasel Of The Week winners will receive this EXCELLENT pit cap, AND consideration to be nominated as our Asshat Of The Year.

There it is, dear readers, our inaugural Weasel Of The Week. Hope you have enjoyed it. If YOU have a worthy nominee for our W O T W, leave your nominee here in the comments section.

Great idea, Clyde. This should be fun and make for great bashing. No doubt you have a long list of worthy candidates.

That ‘disagreement over tactics’ wouldn’t have happened if he were a true conservative, and it wouldn’t have riled people as much, had he spoken up and shared his plan, whatever that was. I didn’t see a plan, did you?

    Here’s how they do it.
Ohio may be a conservative state but the voters, while professing conservative values, still look out for their own bacon source. It’s something like which mouse is going to bell the cat, in a way. The voters all across the country declare they are conservatives but want OTHER districts to bear the burden of trimming government down. The 8th District of Ohio has the plum of bacon winners and they are not letting go even when their representative is going contrary to the conservative values for which he may have been elected. He is, remember, the Speaker of the House, and as such can bring much bacon home to the 8th. And that is, I fear, the reason a very many politicians maintain their seats in Congress.

Good summation, Buck. Eveyone’s Congcritter is a bum…except THEIRS. You are correct. I KNOW my congcritter is a bum. Debbie Dingell, who “inherited” hubby John’s seat. NOT that she knows ANYTHING remotely related to the Constitution.

One thing’s for certain, Clyde – you’ll never run out of material.

I found Boehner’s comments to be very odd and inconsistent. He said, ““The issue with the Tea Party isn’t one of strategy…It’s a disagreement over tactics, from time to time.”

Tactics are pretty much the same thing as strategy. Furthermore, I would have more understanding with Boehner if the disagreement were simply about strategy. It’s often easier to agree on principles than on strategy, just as parents might agree that their child is out of control but they disagree on how to handle it. Boehner’s problem is that he is one of those conservatives for whom strategy has become EVERYTHING, to the point that principles have been forsaken. That’s why he’s a disappointment to the Tea Party.

Echo CW – I’ll be long dead before they are all listed.

Jenny Beth Martin, of the TPPatriots, has a pretty good rebuke for the sotted one :
