Global Warming Insanity For Jan 4 2015

Well, my friends, it looks like the global warming Nazis have picked up in 2015 right where the lunatics left off in 2014.

As you will recall, almost daily in the latter portion of last year, we brought you numerous examples of what is to “blame” for the non-existent problem. The EU has taken aim at a HUGE portion of your average breakfast-making appliances. So NOW, if you like a nice, hot steaming cup of coffee in the morning, or any time for that matter, the assholes at the EU in Brussels have decided YOU are an “enemy of the planet”. Yep. I shit you not. Story from A.B. Sanderson at

EU Rules that Coffee Percolators Must Switch off after 5 Minutes to Fight Climate Change.

Your most basic breakfast making appliances. By decree of the slobs at the European Union bureaucracy in Brussels, a BIGGER enemy of the planet than SUV’s. Unfricking real.
HERE, at this Shrine To Lunacy, is the FIRST place to ban ALL energy consumption. The E.U. Headquarters building in Brussels.

Coffee lovers are facing interference from Brussels who have dictated that they cannot be guaranteed a hot cup of coffee.

New rules have come into force under the guise of preventing electricity waste which mean that filter coffee machines must switch themselves off after five minutes of percolating, the Telegraph reports.

“As with a huge number of laws that flood out of the Commission’s Berlaymont building in the Belgian capital, this new directive is intended to help tackle climate change – even though the organisation itself has two Parliaments hundreds of miles apart, numerous courts, administration buildings and luxury offices for bureaucrats as well as a fleet of chauffeur driven cars to let tubby MEPs avoid having to walk anywhere themselves. The cost of travelling between the different buildings as well as maintaining the staff and offices run into billions of euros for the tax payer”.

In the Brussels Parliament, restaurants are subsidised by the tax payer, computers are rarely turned off overnight and TVs run continuously. But a cup of hot coffee from one of the many bars scattered around the beige building costs €1.10, less than half the price of anywhere in the rest of the capital.

The European Commission claims that the new rules won’t affect consumers as most filter machines have insulated jugs but for people who actually want a hot, rather than warm beverage it will mean the start of a lot of close watching as their morning wake up drink brews.

Espresso machines must now power down after 30 minutes and functions keeping cups warm will end after 60 minutes.

But officials claim that consumers will not even notice as ‘coffee in drip-filter mugs without an insulated jug is undrinkable after 40 minutes anyway.

Under the new rules drip filter machines with non-insulated jugs must power down 40 minutes after the end of the last brewing cycle.

But the new rules have found supporters in some areas, with a spokesman from the National Federation of Women’s Issues saying that “having appliances designed to be sparing with electricity is definitely a good thing for your household finances.”

“Nobody likes to waste energy, and at a time when energy bills are increasing” added Marylyn Haines Evans, public affairs chairwoman; “Coffee is one of the many products threatened by climate change, so it’s also good to know that when you’re making a cup, you’re doing your bit to cut down on carbon emissions too.”

The new rules are part of the EU’s Ecodesign initiative which is responsible for low powered vacuum cleaners and a ban on incandescent light bulbs – even though ‘energy saving’ bulbs are known to cause headaches for many people and contain mercury which is difficult to dispose of safely.

As well as coffee percolators, networked devices such as routers, smart TVs and printers should also be able to switch automatically into a low power standby mode.

Defending the laws, the Commission claim that the rules will safe householders around £32 a year in lower energy bills.

European Consumer Organisation director general Monique Goyens said: “Improving the energy consumption levels of everyday consumer products is the right approach to contribute some relief to consumers from increasing energy bills.

“With purchases increasingly moving online it makes perfect sense for shoppers to have a useful energy label at their disposal to compare products.”

UKIP Deputy leader Paul Nuttall said it was “time for the British people to wake up, smell the coffee and tell the hyper-regulating EU bureaucrats where to go.”

“Now the EU decides we must have tepid coffee after hoovering for an additional 30 minutes in a dim lit house with low watt light bulbs.”

Light bulbs. Toasters. Coffee makers. The list is endless of what these pompous pricks will tell the average Joe what THEY cannot have, but you can bet your ass NO ONE in the E-frigging-U bureaucracy will have COLD goddamn coffee.

How this “union” has survived it’s own stupidity requires the willing suspension of disbelief. And, you can damn well bet if the Europeans do it, the asinine leftists HERE will demand it as well.

If some leftist moron tells you automatically shutting down coffee makers is a good thing, serve him up a nice cup out of a cold pot, and see the loon spit it out faster than when it went in. Besides, anyone think Starbucks will abide by this idiocy?  I don’t.

CLYDE. Wondering HOW did the so-called “sophisticated, and smart” Europeans got DUPED into this nonsense.

I don’t see the problem here.
They can just take their cold cup of coffee and zap it in their wind turbine-powered microwaves. Eazy-peazy !

  2. Kathy says:

This makes me think of the saying ‘people will step over a dollar to pick up a dime’. Micromanaging has succeeded in overlooking the big stuff while they wrongly focus on the petty stuff.

As the piece says, TVs and computers stay on 24/7, not to mention the muzzies overrunning the country with their stink and filth, but let’s regulate coffee pots instead of addressing the big picture. Moron lefties.

    • Clyde says:

Just more of the leftist lunatic condescension from the leftist loons who run the E-frigging-U, Kathy. Too bad the Europeans aren’t smart enough to figure it out, much like the “hopey changey” crowd here is too stupid to figure it out.

  3. Just Gene says:

You can have my hot cup of coffee when you pry it from my COLD dead fingers.

  4. Rick S. says:

“People”, whether U.S. or Europe are stupid !

    At a “Grand” level !!

Before (The Old Days, pre-year-2000) a person (Scientist/ Expert) had to “prove” their theories/opinions, but now all an idiot has to say this-or-that, and the Masses drink it down like Cool-Aid, questioning nothing !!!

    Stupidity “should” be rewarded !
