Terrorist Training Camps in Texas

From The Examiner:

shells found at location

The Clarion reported these shells were found near the compound

About three hours away from Austin, Texas, sits what declassified FBI documents say is an alleged Islamist training compound, the Clarion Project reported Tuesday.

According to the Clarion Project, the enclave in Texas is one of 22 such compounds owned by the group, Muslims of the Americas, an organization linked to radical Pakistani Muslim cleric Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani.

According to the documents obtained by Clarion, the network is headquartered in “Islamberg,” a community in rural New York.

The Texas compound, located in Brazoria County near Sweeny, is known as “Mahmoudberg.” sweeny tx

According to Clarion, a spokesman for the group declared the U.S. to be a Muslim-majority country, a claim easily debunked.

Clarion also cited a 2007 FBI report that said MOA members have been involved in at least 10 murders, one disappearance, three firebombings, one attempted firebombing, two explosive bombings and one attempted bombing.

“The documented propensity for violence by this organization supports the belief the leadership of the MOA extols membership to pursue a policy of jihad or holy war against individuals or groups it considers enemies of Islam, which includes the U.S. Government. Members of the MOA are encouraged to travel to Pakistan to receive religious and military/terrorist training from Sheikh Gilani,” the document added.

Local residents have reported gunfire in the area, but that is common in rural Texas.

The compound was also the site of a 2002 shooting incident where one member of the group reportedly shot another.  FBI documents revealed that group members did not cooperate with authorities and women wearing veils were not permitted to speak directly with officers.

The organization has been in Texas since the 1980s and maintains an outreach facility in Houston, Clarion added.

Authorities also raided a nearly 45-acre “compound” about 70 miles south of Dallas in 1991 after a MOA/Jamaat-ul-Fuqra bomb plot in Toronto was foiled.

The organization is allowed to operate in the country, Clarion said, because the State Department has not designated MOA/Jamaat ul-Fuqra as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.

“The group is thus permitted to organize in the U.S. until that happens,” Clarion said, even though the State Department has recognized the organization’s terrorist agenda.

In 1998, the State Department called the group an “Islamic sect that seeks to purify Islam through violence.”

“Jamaat ul-Fuqra has never been designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. It was included in several recent annual terrorism reports under ‘other terrorist groups,’ i.e., groups that had carried out acts of terrorism but that were not formally designated by the Secretary of State. However, because of the group’s inactivity during 2000, it was not included in the most recent terrorism report covering that calendar year,” a State Department spokesman said in 2002.

Nevertheless, the FBI is concerned about the organization, and Clarion said the group needs to be designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization “before it’s too late.”

Evidently the FBI isn’t too concerned about the organization, since it, and many others, have been allowed to exist in the states since the 90s. The feds have a list of bombings this group is tied to, yet they are still here and roaming around free. Perhaps our flawed Justice Department has something to do with this.

It’s amazing that Hitlery’s muslim-loving State Department has recognized their terrorist agenda yet they’re allowed to organize in the US.

But the most amazing part of this story, and we can attribute that to the blue swath painted across the Houston area, is that Texans continue to allow this scum to live in our midst.

Two things about that gunfire that’s common in the rural areas of Texas – one, somebody needs to pay more attention to where it’s coming from, and two, somebody else needs more practice at the range.

I knew there was a reason I didn’t like having to travel to Houston on business!

While this is startling, Kathy, I can’t say it’s shocking. Pine cones abound in this administration, indeed throughout the national government!

  2. Hardnox says:

How many wannabe terrorists are we talking about? Further, why haven’t the Texas Rangers or other Texas law enforcement shut this group down? Why wait for the State Dept.?

Odd how State won’t classify this group but the Left et al wants to brand conservatives as terrorists simply for disagreeing with lefty ideology. I remain pissed.

    • Kathy says:

Most likely state law enforcement doesn’t get involved because it’s a money and jurisdiction issue, kind of like securing the border. The feds won’t do their job but they won’t let us do it either.

They’re much too busy watching veterans and branding them as terrorists to notice what’s right under their noses, and in our back yards.

I’m thinking someday muslims in this once great country will be an endangered species. And terrorists training camps and associated mosques will be little more than smoking holes in the ground.
But, but, but,…we have religious freedom in this country, some will say, pointing to their pocket copy of the US constitution. Yes brother, we do, but we also have the second amendment and the duty to protect that constitution from all ememies, foreign and domestic.
Mr. Crawfish, if you can locate the area in google earth, send me a link so I can add it to my “troublespot map.”

    • Kathy says:

I hope you’re right IR, and I’ll certainly do my part to create those holes in the ground. It will come down to us because the Feds won’t do anything about it.

  4. I.R. Wayright says:

I just took a look at Google Earth and guess what is just North of Sweeney, TX.
Hint; It is a juicy target for terrorists.

  5. CW says:

The gov’ts too busy sifting through the cell phone records of law-abiding Americans to investigate things like terrorist training camps right here on American soil.

One of these days they’ll carry out a terrorist plot. People will get hurt and killed. Property will be destroyed. Hearings will be held where everyone points the finger at everyone else or takes the 5th and no one will lose his job except maybe some peon to be sacrificed as a scapegoat. And nothing will change.

    • garnet92 says:

      Cynical much CW?

That’s not a knock – I agree totally with your forecast of what would happen if they execute some sort of terrorist action – it’ll mimic what is going on in all 182 of Issa’s investigations – NOTHING. A “dog and pony” show with no results to speak of.

    • Kathy says:

Exactly, CW, especially with this administration. But even back in Bush’s days, you could easily pull up a map with all them pinpointed across America. I have never understood why they’re allowed to exist. We know where they are, yet we do nothing.

  6. Mrs AL says:

Say, maybe someone ought to make an anonymous call to the IRS and report them as a conservative PAC?!!

  7. Clyde says:

How about cleaning the goddamn terrorists OUT of the frigging Regime FIRST? I’d ask for a frigging meteor for the area, but I guess the Good Lord has run fresh out of the damn things.

Did you happen to know that the STP Nuclear plant near Bay City is just 30 mins away? That if they were to sabotage this nuclear plant that radiation poisoning could kill millions in the Houston Area? And the road FM 35 there has little protection from a massive attack launched there!

    • Kathy says:

Hi Bailey, thanks for the visit. I knew there was a nuclear plant nearby and in a follow up post to this one, I learned that one of the muslims works there, according to a comment made at another site.

Check out the Freeport, Tx post, listed on the right side of the page and you’ll find more info.

Remember Waco ? Soon after the Murder and burning of the Branch Church , Slick Willie ,,Bill Clinton,, pointed his finger at the TV and said, Let this be a lesson to those of you that are thinking about Joining a Religion CULT..
What has he done about this CULT here in Texas?
Texas , should have controlled this Problem at Waco.
Their would have been a lot more good folks, alive today.
To let this problem in Sweeney continue , it might get a lot worse.

    • Kathy says:

No one could forget Waco, an incident that didn’t have to happen the way it did, but when the feds take over, things get taken of the state’s hands.

This location and others like it are ticking time bombs, especially when you consider how things are ratcheting up around the world. The feds won’t label it correctly as a terrorist compound because then they’d be forced to deal with it and that’s one thing O won’t do. He won’t even say the word, let alone face the fact that they’re already here.

Thanks for the comment Don, additional input is always welcome, and you’re right – we’d do well to remember Waco.
